Holiday Rating:

A very special and varied Yorkshire long distance walk

Loved the variety of accommodation, terrain and scenery and the locals we met on the Dales Way and in the pubs and restaurants at night.

Rating for tour operator:

Very pleased. Good organisation and communication. 80% of the B&Bs were good or excellent. One had a medical emergency on the day and two were a bit tired looking - but overall very good/excellent.

We used Mickledore , a company based in Keswick, who specialise in organising walking holidays in the UK. Mickledore organise accommodation and the transporting of luggage from one hotel to the next. We walk. We have used this company several time over the past few years. They have planned accommodation for us on the West Highland Way, Coast to Coast and the Rob Roy Way as well as this year's holiday. They are an excellent firm to deal with, by phone or email. Not only do they plan the accommodation and transport but they supply us with maps and guides for the walk, full notes on the places we are staying, advice on local restaurants and transport to start/end points. In a word they are brilliant.

Enjoyable 2 day walk

Mum and I walked part of the South Down Way from Alfriston to Eastbourne along the inland route and from Eastbourne to Alfriston on the costal path. The Seven Sisters were particularly challenging! We stayed in very comfortable accommodation over 3 nights with excellent breakfasts.

Wonderful walking along the Northumberland coastal path

We walked from Cresswell to Berwick along the Northumberland coastal path. It was lovely scenery and very relaxing and enjoyable. We stayed in a variety of B&Bs with our luggage transported on for us. All the accommodation was arranged for us by Mickledore and all were of superb quality.

Rating for tour operator:

Mickledore were superb and we would unhesitatingly recommend them and we will be using them again. They were very easy to deal with on the phone and we received a comprehensive itinerary together with OS maps and a guidebook for the walk. The holiday went by without a hitch - all accommodation was of very high standard and the luggage transfers worked brilliantly. We are already looking at what walking holiday to do next with them.

Mickledore Walking Holidays - Hadrian's Wall Hike

Fabulous holiday. A six day walking tour of Hadrian's Wall starting in Corbridge and ending in Carlisle. Beautiful countryside and great people along the way. I had an absolutely wonderful holiday.

Rating for tour operator:

Mickledore took care of every detail. The nightly B&B accommodations, luggage transfers and the route information were all well done. The proprietors at the B&B's were all very accommodating and friendly. I traveled from the US for this holiday and I had some small reservations about booking with a company I did not know but I am very pleased to say that Mickledore did a fantastic job. I would recommend them to anyone. I will likely plan another trip with them next year.

Holiday Rating:

A fresh new experience, plenty of time to walk and relax and a superb option to socialise, if wanted, later in the day, with a new mix of people from around the globe, on a daily basis.

Walking holiday across Hadrian's wall, what a great experience. We met people from all around the world at breakfast each day, different people each time. Lots of time to enjoy the holiday we had booked for our selves but the opportunity to met other new people, having the same walk, when evening meals or the pub brought us together.

Back up there which we did not need to call on as pre holidsay literature was excellent.
