Our independent tour by train was spectacular. We explored Kinsale, Killarney, Ennis, Galway and Dublin. Every town was unique and had it's own charm. Every hotel and tour exceeded our expectations.

McKinlay Kidd provided flawless service. Their hand picked hotels were fantastic and the tours totally met our expectations. McKinlay Kidd's staff is professional and personable.

Everything about the trip we took, Far North Line to Orkney, met or exceeded our expectations. The seamless travel process (a combination of ferries, trains, small tour bus, and taxis) made everthing stress-free. The accommodations were all lovely and well appointed. The local tours were fun and informative. The tips for exploring the various locations and finding restaurants were very helpful. Even the weather cooperated - unseasonably warm and beautiful.

Wonderful journey travelling north to south, experiencing all the isles. It was made extra special with the weather being perfect.

Very helpful and accommodating. The pre holiday booking information was excellent and having the itinerary and other documents on an app was so useful.

While I loved the vast countryside and incredible coastline of Northern Scotland, I really loved the magic and history of the Orkney Islands. I'd love to go back someday, relive my favorite spots, and then venture out to the Shetland Islands.

Ciaran was an exceptional tour guide. He turned history into storytelling, and combined organization with spontaneity. He was fun and attentive, and worked hard to meet all our needs and expectations. And enough can't be said about Linzi, as well. She is a senior travel sales advisor with McKinlay Kidd who was wonderful to work with as she helped me plan my vacation.

Most importantly, the weather was perfect. Expecting rain, missed, cool temps and fog, we came equipped with all types of weather resistant equipment. Never needed it. Every day blue sky and warm temps. This was the most important reason the trip went well because everything else was so much better that came after. So much history and such nice people.

Les was fantastic. As far as logistics, he was spot on. Lunch was always ready when we got there room keys at the ready, coach waiting for us and he knew everyone all over the Outer Hebrides. Because He Lives there, he could tell us so much more than other guides me be able to. From our Meetup the night before at the hotel at the airport through to saying goodbye when we landed back in Glasgow he was there for us with a smile.

Travel arrangements and helpful guides allowed me to not only find my great, great, grandmother's home in North Uist but also to learn about Hebridean life and culture from local people. We explored neothilic and iron age domestic and spiritual sites. As well, black houses, crofts and the islands beautiful beaches and coastlines. It was wonderful. I found my roots.

Our guides Rob (Barra), Angus (North and South Uist) and Les (Harris and Lewis) were all very knowledgeable and went out of their way to show us sites of local interest and to share the realities of life on the Hebridean Islands

Very well planned holiday expolring the Orkneys and Inverness. Great hotels, food and guides. Highly recommended!

We did a one week wild Atlantic Way rail tour with McKinlay Kidd in August. It was fantastic. Trevor our guide was amazing. Everything from the hotels to the tours were well paced and well done. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and are already thinking about another trip with mckinlay kidd in Scotland.
