Wonderful holiday in Scotland

We had a great holiday. Mckinlay Kidd helped me plan a trip that fit our schedules and had some suggestions to make the trip memorable. I will be recommending Mckinlay Kidd to friends and family that travel to Scotland. We especially enjoyed our tour guid on the Isle of Skye.

Superb personal service from McKinlay Kidd throughout

A 17 day self drive holiday to N Ireland and Ireland. We started in Belfast (ferry from Liverpool) and had 6 days along the Causeway Coast followed by two overnight stays to break up the journey before 7 nights in the SW and a return from Dublin to Holyhead. Ferries - Stena Line and total distance from Staffordshire and back home 1700 miles.

From first contact, to helping us customise our holiday, the staff at McKinlay- Kidd were helpful, flexible and knowledgeable. Queries were handled quickly and smoothly and documentation pre- departure was clear and valuable. The hotels were overall very good and most were excellent. Quality dining was a highlight in most locations. It was our first visit and we were given a great introduction to Ireland by the Travel Agents

Mckinley Kidd 5 STAR tour, excellent guides, excellent boutique hotels, fantastic tour stops, only 11 on our guided tour with 2 guides. Everything was perfect with 3 surprise minitours including walking in the fields with the Hyland COOS!

Different World

Started badly due to CalMac delaying ferry crossing by two days and thus unable to explore Barra but the support from McKinlay Kidd was exemplary. The beautiful scenery was mind blowing and all the local people were so friendly and helpful. Inevitably Hotels were towards the basic as choice was limited but generally the food was good/excellent and the staff welcoming, informal and fun.

Stepped in immediately to assist after ferry issues which which was much appreciated by a very stressed couple who had spent two days sitting on the ferry tarmac before managing to leave on the third. McKinlay were very helpful in proposing an itinerary which met our wishes and we think they got it just right

We (eventually!) had a fabulous time on these beautiful islands with some glorious sunshine to enjoy amazing scenery. The Scottish weather and rough seas delayed our departure from Oban, which was initially disappointing but we were ultimately able to enjoy some spontaneous experiences in the mainland while McKinlay Kidd rearranged accommodation and ferry bookings for us behind the scenes. We were very glad we’d booked with them for that alone!

Rating for tour operator:

Always helpful and responsive, McKinlay Kidd were proactive when ferries were cancelled and had already rearranged accommodation for us when they rang with news of our ferry cancellation. They were realistic about our likely departure from Oban but ultimately got us rebooked with CalMac earlier than initially thought. Because they were doing the reorganisation (over a weekend, I should add!) on our behalf, we were able to concentrate on enjoying ourselves without any stress.
