Always good to know that there is back up advice and help should anything go wrong. The accommodation is always good, including the break.

"Incipit vita nova" ... And so a new life begins ...
Almost 6 weeks travelling on the outer islands using Oban as the launch pad. Brought my family's history to life ... Had the amazing fortune of great weather (only 3 days of rain) so able to thoroughly enjoy Iona, then the Outer Hebrides from Barra to Stornaway, and on out to Shetland the Orkney's before finishing off in Edinburgh. Had the amazing fortune of great weather (only 3 days of rain) so able to thoroughly enjoy Iona, then the Outer Hebrides from Barra to Stornaway, and on out to Shetland the Orkney's before finishing off in Edinburgh. Ahead of the tourist traffic, loved the single-track driving/passing pauses and the civility this brought to the driving itself. Lovely tea shops along the way. Beautiful guest houses and hotels. SO very glad I embarked on this solo journey in the wake of my husband's death -- totally revitalizing and confidence building!

MKK put it altogether. Small glitches readily resolved. Hit 'the mark' in terms of accommodation, sites and timelines. Allowed me to focus on the wonderful sites and beauty the outer islands of Scotland have to offer.

A relaxing, informative, exciting tour of Scotland
The Grand Train Tour of Scotland gave me a well thought out, well organized tour of Scotland using mainly trains and Ferries for transportation. Each accommodation was unique and provided excellent service, gorgeous rooms and amenities, excellent food, and top of the line comfort. The side trips were fascinating and full of information presented by excellent guides. I can't imagine a better way to see Scotland!

Car free and hassle free island hopping
We spent a memorable 10 nights experiencing the beauty and variety of Skye, Mull and Iona, with single nights in Glasgow at either end, travelling by train and ferry. The small hotel and guest house accommodation was all of a high standard and the built in private taxi tour of Skye was the perfect antidote for a wet day. McKinlay Kidd were a joy to deal with. From the start they were helpful and flexible, adapting their "Car Free Scottish Island Hopping" option to fit our preference to fly from our local airport. Their organisation of the entire trip was first class and, on the one occasion that we needed to contact them regarding a crossed wire abut a trip cancellation, they resolved the matter quickly and efficiently..

An amazing trip with stunning scenery.
We fulfilled two goals by touring round the coast of northern Scotland and making it to John O’Groats. The scenery was gorgeous, especially the fascinating geology and geomorphology. We liked Scotland and the Scots very much.

Awesome Atlantic Twins
Our itinerary spending three nights on the Isle of Coll before taking the one hour ferry journey to stay on the Isle of Tiree for three nights was the perfect combination to explore two beautiful places in the Inner Hebrides .

Exemplary service . McKinley Kidd can be relied upon to take all the stress out of booking island hopping holidays in the Hebrides. The standard of accommodation selected on our behalf was exceptionally good. We love the provision of the helpful, user friendly Vamoos App . The inclusion of a four wheel drive orientation tour of Coll with a very engaging local resident further enhanced our holiday .
