We booked through Adam at McKinlay Kidd Ltd - The organisationand attention to detail were great, all documents recieved and used through thier app which worked really well and the arrangements were seamless. I especially liked the notification when one of the boat trips had to be reorganised because of strong winds. Local contacts and knowledge was excellent and ensured we saw and did everything we asked to on the holiday. Would recommend

Highlands and Isle of Skye Quick tour

Our short break to the Highlands of Scotland and the Isle of Skye was well organised from the moment we booked. We were taken care of every step of the way. The tour took us first to a beautiful location in the Highlands overlooking Ben Nevis. The tour took us first to a beautiful location in the Highlands overlooking Ben Nevis. We travelled on the Jacobite steam train through the Highlands and then took the ferry to Skye where we stayed in a wonderful hotel. We had an amazing tour of Skye with the legendary Donald. We were looked after all the way and checked on regularly by our tour operator to make sure all was as it should be. Overall a very enjoyable short break.

McKinlay Kidd Ltd were great from the start. The app they provided was really great and was very helpful and useful to use when out and about and also in the lead up to the short break. They phoned us and emailed us with information regarding trains and to check we had made our connections. We were impressed with McKinlay Kidd and would definitely use them again when considering any future holiday.

A great tour of the North of Ireland

We booked a North of Ireland Explorers holiday with an additional two days in Belfast. We had a great holiday with McKinley Kidd taking care of all the arrangements. We stayed in some lovely hotels and enjoyed a great tour of Rathlin Island with our own personal guide (Paul Quinn) all booked for us. We were not sure what to expect when we booked as we had not done this kind of thing before but it was all great.

Very impressed with the efficiency of the whole process. McKinley Kidd took care of everything, little touches like booking us into the Stenna Lounge for the ferry trip made even the journey something a bit special.

A slendid mostly Scottish holiday

A week in Wales, then Chester, Cumbria, Scottish mainland, Shetland and Orkney. Mostly by train plus flying to the Islands. Surprisingly good weather, accommodation. Only the coffee in the UK did not come up to standard. Shetland was the standout.

This is the second time we have used Mc Kinlay Kidd for our bookings. They take the worry out of planning a holiday with good choices in accommodation and excellent information on each location. Also very flexible and friendly.

Rating for tour operator:

McKinlay Kidd was the tour operator. The service was excellent. The hotels were wonderful and interesting, not places that we would have found on our own. There was a problem with one of the trains because of extreme weather and flooding, our tour operator did everything they could to mitigate that circumstance.

My wife and I traveled with another couple and all had a wonderful time. Accommodations were clean and comfortable and the food was great. Our tour guide for our day excursion was terrific; knowledgeable, flexible, and had a great sense of humor.

Wonderful visit to the beautiful islands of Islay, Jura and Colonsay

We spent nearly nine days exploring the three islands of Islay, Jura and Colonsay. We visited beautiful landscapes, including dramatic coastlines and sandy beaches. There was plenty of wildlife to see and lots of wildflowers. Our accommodation was very comfortable and well located.
