10 day customized train trip through the Scottish Haighlands, Isle of Syke and the Orkney Islands

A great trip. Started in Glasgow, ended in Edinburgh, with 10 nights in hotels and B&B's, Speen Bridge, Syke, Thurso, Kirkwall, Inverness & Pitlochery. Used Scot Rail regularly scheduled trains to move to each location. Ferry to Isle of Skye from Mallig and to the Main Island of Orkney via Thurso. We also took the Jacobite train. All transportation was arranged by the tour operator between trains and accommodation. All accommodation was great...

All accommodation was great. All included breakfast and some supper. We never experienced any problems with what was arranged by the tour director.

Rating for tour operator:

Would highly recommend McKinley-Kidd. From the time we contacted them about tour options, we were very satisfied with the service we received. The accommodation they booked for us was excellent in all cases, as well as the private tours of Skye and Orkney. All the people we met at the accommodations and tours spoke highly of their relationship with McKinley-Kidd. No issues during the trip that required follow up as everything went well.

Four Adult Americans in Ireland

I traveled to Ireland with my grown sons and daughter-in-law. We rented a car and drove from Dublin to Enniskillen, to Lough Conn, Ennis, Dingle and back to Dublin. We LOVED having a car to go off the beaten track and unscripted even though we had some 'must do' experiences and tours planned.

McKinlay Kidd did a fantastic job of listening to the things we wanted to do and arranging and advising us about how to fit as much as we could into our 10 nights in Ireland. The accommodations were excellent and Robert's tips appearing in the Vamoos app were excellent. I HIGHLY recommend McKinlay Kidd.

Rating for tour operator:

I have used McKinley Kidd twice and on each occasion found their planning and attention to detail exceptional. Maps, guide books, and helpful local information are all included in their holiday pack. I would certainly recommend them to anyone wishing to visit remoter parts of Scotland where local knowledge is so important.

Touring the Wild Atlantic Way from Galway to Donegal

A 10 night tour staying in 5 locations in Counties Galway, Sligo, Mayo and two in County Donegal. The coastal route was followed as much as possible, giving us superb beaches and cliffs. The hotels varied from 17th Century country houses and boutique B & B.

Orkney and Shetland Dream Holiday

Having waited too many years to go to Orkney and Shetland, the wait was well worth it. McKinlay Kidd tailor made the holiday of a lifetime that surpassed our expectations. They understood what we wanted to achieve and made sure we saw as much as possible in a ten day time frame.

McKinlay-Kidd did all the bookings and arranged for drivers. We also booked a wonderful day tour of Skye through them. Accommodations were excellent, and we managed to do everything on our wish list during our short stays. We added several days on our own in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Loved it all. No bad experiences.
