We spent quality time walking on Orkney and Shetland.,especially coastal cliffs. Rental cars gave us access to wherever we wanted and accomodation was varied and very welcoming.

We were late in asking for help arranging a tour that would fit our time line. But the company put together a varied tour with excellent accomodation and a great bird watching trip by boat. They were excellent communicators and responded quickly to our questions.

We had a fabulous week of bird-watching on Shetland in June 2023. Because of the isolated location we felt more comfortable booking through an agency than going it alone and McKinlay Kidd were just perfect - always available before and during the holiday, we spelled out what we hoped to achieve and Heather organised a programme for us. We stayed at 3 different locations so we covered the whole of Mainland and we’re able to organise ferries and boat trips appropriate to where we were staying. The flight to FairIsle for the day was a definite highlight. The car hire was very easy and all the accommodation was excellent. Everyone was really friendly and, though we will probably not have an opportunity to return ( we are rather long in the tooth) can heartily recommend a holiday on Shetland, with McKinlay Kidd to organise it!

See above, took what we wanted and arranged the holiday to fit. They were available at the end of a phone line and really looked after us. It was also very good value.

South to north of the Outer Hebrides. We drove ourselves. Had a fantastic time. Plenty of time to go gently and see everything we could. Great place to visit. It helped enormously that someone else (Mk-Kidd) did the organising. Produced the amount of info that was both necessary and helpful, and communicated brilliantly.Immediately responsive when a ferry had to be cancelled. We felt well supported if we needed to be.

We toured the length of the Outer Hebrides from Barra to Butt of Lewis, wonderful scenery, hospitality and experiences throughout

this was our 5th tailored trip with McKinlay Kidd and they are difficult to fault. Well thought out routes, great accommodation, really useful and comprehensive recommendations, very responsive. Think Scottish Islands think Mckinlay Kidd.

McKinlay Kidd arranged a wonderful train/bus tour of northern Scotland, through the Highlands and on the Isle of Skye. We stayed in lovely, boutique hotels with loads of history behind them and stupendous food, and visited historical castles, Loch Ness and other historical sites. When one of the trains -- the famous "Harry Potter" train was not available because of mechanical issues -- McKinlay Kidd made arrangements for additional perks and visits for all of us. With just 12 of us on the tour, we made wonderful friendships with the other travelers as we gained insight into how Scotland became what it is today.

Our tour guide, Andrew, knew the history and background in detail of everywhere we visited, and even places we were just passing by. Our driver, Karen, was stupendous too, maneuvering the bus along one-way roads and into tightly packed car parks. Both Karen and Andrew were so friendly and informative, they made the holiday a super one.

I had the most enjoyable trip, full of superb information by our tour guide Andrew.

They provided everything they promised and more. Very easy to contact and talk to. No problem was to great and dealt with swiftly.

The two of us had known each other since 1979 and decided before we got too much older to pursue an adventure but not too far from home. What an excellent choice this was put together by McKinley Kidd so well. The accommodation on the whole was pretty good but the scenery was incredible. The driving was fine but for me the experiences of the scenery and attractions, notably Dunnrobin Castle and the Castle of Mey was memorable.

We had to cancel this trip once because my wife had broken her leg and I couldn’t leave her. The agents were incredibly understanding and when we were ready they rescheduled the trip again with no problems

McKinlay Kidd was organized, efficient, quick to respond. Daniela really listened, understood the reason for our tour and planned a jam-packed 2 weeks that accommodated all of our requests.

McKinley Kidd did an excellent job planning the self-guided tour. Nice hotels and experiences. Lots of suggestions for each day's adventures.
