Value add exceeded my expectations. I tried booking a route myself, which was a nightmare to coordinate. A colleague recommended McKinlay Kidd and it was well worth it. Armed with their local knowledge, they designed a much better route, chose the best, if at times quirky accommodation with just the right distances and durations. I'll use them again.

We hit the lottery
Just the most amazing week. Tour leader Dan was enthusiastic, personable, and accessible. Gold Standard. Bus driver Karen was Robin to his Batman. Small group I guess self-selected, we'll always favor this template.. All the right stuff without seeming crammed or rushed. Train travel is the bomb.

Fantastic trip, everything was first class!
We took the Luxury Skye and Highlands by Sleeper train from London. The accomodations were top notch. We were very impressed and all the included breakfast were fantastic. Our connections and train/taxi/ferry travel were great. Our guides were very knowledgeable and made our tours very enjoyable and special. Would highly recommend McKinlay Kidd and would definitely use this tour company again.

Exploring the Highlands
We enjoyed a week of stop overs via train in Pitlochry, Inverness, Isle of Skye, Mallaig and Fort William. Capping off our vacation with a three day stay in Edinburgh. McKinlay Kidd was instrumental in arranging our accommodation and ease of transfer between each location.

Scotland - travelled differently
The guided train tour was very special and different (better) from our other holiday experiences. The arrangement and the tour guide were above expected levels.

Great trip. Lovely hitels
This one week trip took me to four very good hotels in the west coast of Scotland with a hire car from Glascow. I stayed in four different, small hotels which provided some memorable meals. I was blessed with excellent weather. The only disappointment was the Caledonian Sleeper for the journey to and from Scotland, which was uncomfortable. On the way up my breakfast ever appeared while on the way down the breakfast was awful.

My Highlands Tour
I had a wonderful Highland's holiday touring castles and ancient archaeological sites. We stayed at beautiful hotels and enjoyed great good, especially seafood. Additionally, our main tour guide was informative and helpful and our day guides at specific sites such Skara Brae were quite knowledgeable. I learned so much about the Highlands. The tour was well organized and minor changes were professionally handled.

McKinley-Kidd was really well organized and provided extremely knowledgeable tour guides. The operator sent electronic versions of maps and guides and weather information that were most helpful and had great guides. I would definitely go on another tour with this group.

Wildlife on Outer Hebridies.
We wanted a holiday where we could see Scottish wildlife and this was perfect .. The holidays accommodation and ferries was all booked by McKinley Kidd and saved a lot of preparation. All the accommodation was bed and breakfast and we booked evening meals well in advance as there are limited eating establishments which get full very quickly .. For us spotting wildlife and taking life easy the holiday was perfect and all the bed and breakfasts the owners were lovely and really helpful .

Very good
Really good choice of guest houses. Organisation of tickets and ferries, coupled with the accompanying maps and place descriptions meant that we didn't have to worry about anything.
