We saw many beautiful and historic sites and had lovely walks around everywhere we went when it wasn't pouring rain. The train journeys we were able to take were lovely. The accommodations were excellent.

Rating for tour operator:

They were extremely helpful in making alternate arrangements when it was required because of the heavy rains. We never felt abandoned and knew that McKinlay Kidd would take care of us. It was a nice feeling. For that reason alone I would rebook with them because when something goes wrong that is when you really want a tour company who cares.

First Class all the way!

We were finally able to make a dream come true with a long-awaited trip to Ireland. I did a TON of reviewing all sorts of tour offered by different companies, but wanted more than the usual tourist stops. McKinlay Kidd was recommended by a friend who had taken the guided rail tour and it sounded like a good fit. Our small group of eleven travelers was a delight. The ‘extra’ tours that had been chosen were all excellent, as was our tour guide...

The ‘extra’ tours that had been chosen were all excellent, as was our tour guide. Every time I saw one of those big coaches unload, I felt a sense of relief I wasn’t on it.

Trevor White was our tour director and he was excellent in every way. His knowledge and sense of humor made us feel engaged and confident at all times. If he didn’t know the answer right then, he had it for you the next time you gathered.

First stop Kirkudbright a lively town with a castle and lovely riverside walks; a visit to the Wild Goat Park near Newton Stewart and Kippford with its wonderful shell beach. Onward to a spectacular location for a few days at Knockinaam Lodge near Portpatrick with visits to Mull of Galloway well worth a visit and Logan Botanic Garden an absolute gem with a distinct Mediterranean feel. Excelent service from McKinlay Kidd

McKinlay Kidd were excellent in arranging our holiday - and rearranged bookings to suit out changed plans. The arrangements made by McKinlay Kidd worked very well. When ferry services were disrupted McKinlay Kidd were exceptional in rearranging our booking.

Bucket List trip

It was very well organised - the tour guide had to change plans at times due to weather and ferry cancellations etc and he went out of his way to organise different activities that appealed to all of the group. I learnt so much and had such a great time that I can’t pick a highlight - i loved everything!

Prepared an itinerary to our requests, booked ferries and good accommodation. The App supplied had tickets and information, updated when ferry sailings changed, and helpful hints and visit suggestions. There was a 24 hour contact number which was reassuring.

Fabulous McKinlay Kidd Ireland Excursions

Starting August 30, 2023, we did the 8 day Ireland by Train, starting in Belfast and ending in Dublin. The three hotels and the train journeys were fine, but we most enjoyed the excursions. They were unique, well thought out, and simply extraordinary!

McKinlay Kidd's Heather and Dora were wonderful ... responsive, professional, personable, helpful. The only issue we had involved breakfast at one of the hotels, and they got right on it. They could not have been better!
