We had a lovely two week trip traveling through Scotland. The scenery was gorgeous, the people were friendly, and the food was great. Unfortunately the weather was far worse than normal and we had cancellations of a tour, a ferry, and trains so it wasn’t what we had hoped.

McKinlay Kidd provided a well organized train trip for us. The app they provided was terrific and they handled the various cancellations with great efficiency.

More than just a bucket-list checker, McKinlay Kidd created an itinerary of places and experiences that exceeded our expectations. We were able to visit places that our ancestors had lived, see the places of outstanding natural beauty, explore the history of the towns and countrysides and delight in the best of local cuisine and beverages while staying in great lodgings close to our points of interest.

From our first inquiry, McKinlay Kidd has been very responsive and we felt that they listened to our wishes. The partners that they work with were phenomenal. We were not disappointed with any aspect of our trip.

Had the pleasure of going on tour with McKinlay Kid to the Orkneys and Shetland. Amazing organisation, wonderful accomodation, great transport and tour options and a very knowledgeable tour guide Ciaran who always made time for questions and your requests. Would highly recommend the tour to any aged person.

McKinlay Kid went out of their way to accomodate all the people in our group when flight changes were made. They always kept us informed and gave a detailed itinerary sheet with lots of options. They made changes to indoor activities if the weather was inclement and we’re flexible enough to ensure we saw all that was on the itinerary. We even got some added extras if time permitted. Ciaran our tour guide amazing and all bus drivers and other guides extremely friendly and patient.

The highlight for me was the 2 days on Iona where I had been hoping to go for a long time. But the whole experience of the history and natural life of the Western Highlands was fascinating. We were looked after so well by our guide and our hosts at each stop. I arrived a day early and had the bonus of a day exploring Edinburgh and the castle.

Ciaran is a very amiable young man with a boundless depository of stories about the places we visited. He was always alert to finding seamless solutions when things didn't go quite to plan. Always making it fun and enjoyable and making sure each of us was looked after. Being a Harry Potter fan I was thrilled to travel on the Jacobite Express and to have Dumbledore's grave pointed out as we travelled beside the loch.

We were on a self guided itineary using the Scotrail train system to travel from Glasgow up through the highlands as far as the Orkneys and then back down the other side. It was an amazing experience and we loved every minut of it.

We always felt completely supported by McKinnely Kidd and whenever there was a hiccup in the travel arrangements, they took great efforts to resolved them and provide us options to our next travel destination. When tours were cancelled because of weather, they substituted equally intersting tours. They were wonderful

The Orkney and Shetland Islands have so much to offer with spectacular scenery and amazing archaeological sites. We travelled in September 2023 and were blessed with lovely weather. McKinlay Kidd organised travel, and great accommodation and guided tours.

Our 14 day holiday by McKinlay Kidd was very interesting and well-organised and we felt that we saw the best the islands had to offer. Such wonderful experiences and spectacular scenery. The archaeological site are very extensive and accessible. Everything from flights (mostly) car hire, ferry crossings, guided tours and accommodation went according to plan. We have already recommended McKinlay Kidd to our friends.

McKinlay Kidd guarantees their service and even when an event totally beyond their control occurs, they figure ot how to make sure the customer is satisfied.

The tour included a great variety of historic and scenic spots. The accommodations were extremely well chosen, providing lovely rooms in convenient locations, and the included meals were quite good.

All the staff, from those who prepared our trip to the tour guide, were professional, helpful, friendly, and just generally excellent. I highly recomnend McKinlay Kidd!

9 day tour slowly through the North Highlands.. everything arranged....rail journeys, taxis, accommodation and some tours. Very helpful to arrange additional travel, hotel and tour as requested..

Absolutely no regrets choosing this company to look after our arrangements to see Scotland ... from the booking to looking after us while on holiday with travel disruptions due to weather, communication, customer service and fixing the situation in a timely and acceptable manner, staff were top notch.
