Thoroughly enjoyed our small group guided rail tour through the Western Highlands, Oban, Iona and Jacobite Steam train. Iona and Kilmartin Glen are not to be missed. We also added a few days on Skye and in Edinburgh with McKinlay Kidd’s expert assistance is arranging hotels, day tours and transportation.

Hands on, follows up, provides bespoke tours in addition to small groups, very professional.

For my 65th birthday, I wanted to take my 29 year old daughter to a place where neither of us had been. We decided a trip to Scotland would fit the bill and I researched different options. I landed on McKinlay Kidd Company. From the online planning to the over the phone personal connection, I was impressed. The magic came when actually landing, having a few days to settle in, meeting fellow small group travelers and of course the tour guide. We had the trip of a lifetime. It was fun, interactive, easy to navigate, and we stayed at immaculate accommodations. Cieran was a breath of fresh air with his consideration and attentiveness to all. Not to mention his gift of storytelling!

McKinlay Kidd Company is top notch. Never had to worry about a thing. All questions, even the tiniest ones were answered and with the utmost professionalism and kindness. We loved the small group aspect as we were a mother and daughter with mostly other couples. I heard from many lodgings along the way that they appreciate the clients and company.

We bought the "Explore Scotland by Train" holiday with McKinlay Kidd and it was wonderful. They organized everything for us perfectly. Train tickets, taxis, B&B's, Isle fo Skye tour... everything was planned for us. We just had to relax and enjoy our vacation. The B&B's that they chose were all gems. I did fall in love with Scotland, and I now really want to travel to Ireland, England and Wales. I will definitely call McKinlay Kidd for my next trip. Thank you!

Kevin was really nice. He organized everything for us with great detail. And, when our train was late to Spean Bridge, McKinlay Kidd answered quickly to make sure that our taxi would be there to meet us later.

We were on an 8-day McKinlay Kidd self-guided train tour of Scotland. It was superbly done, the transportation was perfect, and the hotels and B&Bs charming, comfortable, and warm. From start to finish, it was an outstanding holiday.

McKinlay Kidd did everything they committed to do. Conor Donnelly, our point of contact with McKinlay Kidd was outstanding. Great communications, great planning tools, outstanding coordination of travel and accomodations, and most importantly, everything went as it was planned....no glitches. I can't say enough about how well our holiday went...it was simply terrific.

Such an amazing contrast with each of the different islands. Some stunning scenery en route. A very warm welcome at each of the places I stayed. Was able to watch a plane landing on the beach at Barra. My favourites were the Uists and Harris, just something about those islands and the beaches - everywhere - breathtaking and such friendly and helpful people everywhere I went. Would highly recommend.

This was my third holiday with McKinlay Kidd. They always organise everything so well and the places they choose for you to stay are excellent. Delicious meals available at every location. Lots of information given out beforehand, so you can plan ahead. Their Vamoos app is full of recommendations - places to visit, places to eat. If an outing has to be cancelled - they give you advance warning and are kept informed. Am already considering my next holiday with them.

Everything ran so smoothly on our Highlands by Train experience. Accommodations were first class. Personalized service all the way along.

Atlantic Twin Islands of Coll and Tiree. Very quiet, peaceful, relaxing and invigorating away from the hustle and bustle of living in the fast lane. If you are looking for a holiday of two halves then look no further.

Excellent communication from start to finish, super hotels selected. When ferry was cancelled due to stormy weather they telephoned immediately and rearranged the ferry, hotel and tour guide by the early morning.

12 nights travelling the length of the Outer Hebrides. What a fantastic holiday surrounded by breathtaking scenery and meeting wonderful people. If you want a relaxing holiday then you must do this.

Mckinlay kidd were superb from start to finish . They organised our whole holiday and it ran like clockwork. Knowledgeable staff who took the stress out of organising a holiday . Would recommend them to everyone.

A memorable trip with amazing views round every corner and each island had something different to explore and enjoy. The friendliness of the people on the islands and courtesy of all drivers on single track roads made touring a good experience.

I took a standard holiday offer but Mckinlay Kidd arranged for bespoke additions which made for a perfect trip. I was armed with very good supporting information so I felt very secure to travel alone.
