The perfect holiday

It was both intellectually stimulating and relaxing with all of our need taken care of from the moment we arrived at the airport until we got back. The choice of visits and quality of the lecturer were beyond reproach.

Special interest holiday on music and wine

A most enjoyable week cruising on the River Rhone and attending six excellent concerts with musicians of the highest calibre and increasing our knowledge and understanding of the wine of the area.

Bacchus & Orpheus - wine & music - what could be better?

A week cruising on the Rhone in the brand new MV Amadeus Provence with daily concerts, lectures and wine tastings in beautiful weather. An excellent holiday worth every (considerable) penny.

Delightful country house experience in Argyll with scholarly, intelligent and amusing hostess and various visits to beautiful (or sometimes just interesting) country houses and mansions. Good food and wine, countryside lovely.

Over ten hours of sheer delight

A walking tour of the Square Mile of London, lead by an extraordinary man. He had been the Planning Officer for the City of London for 30 years. He gave us a splendid day, informative, interesting and engaging. Instructive and enjoyable

Four days in Northumberland. Based in Newcastle we visited many places of interest relating to the period the Venerable Bede was living and working in the area. The tour was complemented by a series of lectures on the period, people who shaped the times and the works they produced.

Connoisseur's London

Visits to those parts/districts of London off the beaten track. The kind of holiday one talks about for days afterwards. For example, MRT took us to ST.Paul's to it's library where the curator/librarian was straight from central casting from Dickensian times. We had a trip to Draper's Hall and Guildhall to see the stunning reception rooms, and to learn some history. The guides/lecturers really do MRT proud - enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

Rating for tour operator:

MRT seems to go that extra mile for it's guests/customers, and will spring a surprise at some stage of a tour. This one was no exception: the last morning we had lunch at the Athenaeum club. In my experience with other operators so far, I would place MRT at the top.
