Fantastic
I travelled with Martin Randall to the Gstaad Menuhin Festival. The best holiday I have ever had. The tour manager and lecturer were first class. Wonderful walks coupled with beautiful music combined with good food.. Heaven.

Martin Randall travel the creme de la creme of cultured tours.

Excellent experience
A cruise on the Rhone. Excellent concerts in varied and historical venues on a theme with a good music lecturer. Wine tastings on board with a specialist lecturer snd visits to vineyards. A very comfortable ship with a caring crew. A perfect way to spend a week.

Martin Randall provide a service which would be difficult to replicate. From the initial booking to the holiday itself nothing was too much trouble. The organisation was excellent and despite the very detailed programme with a potential for disaster, it all worked.

He also took us around London to many places Shakespeare had either lived or worked such as the Middle Temple, the Rose and Globe Theaters, Shakespeare's lodging etc. Also went to the National Portrait Gallery to see paintings of Shakespeare and his contemporaries Also went to Eton College library to see original manuscripts, folios and quartos with lecture by the librarian there. Then on to Stratford to see more plays and visit Shakespeare's birthplace, Mary Arden's farm, Holy Trinity Church. We then went on to stay in St. David's in Wales for a week but that was not part of the tour.

Martin Randall had both professor Nicholl tp lead play discussions and lecture about Shakespeare and his contemporaries, but also Janice, our tour leader who managed the logistics of schedule, meals, transportation, hotel accommodations etc. Schedule was full but not too demanding with time for meals and breaks. I had been on another Martin Randall tour to Iran which was also excellent.

M R went the extra mile to look after me when I had a medical drama in France.
While I was on holiday in France with M R Travel last week I was taken ill and ended up in hospital.

I could not have asked to have been looked after better. One of their staff stayed with me all the time and interpreted for me and the hospital. Later a hotel overnight stay and train journey were organised so that the member of staff and me could join the rest of the tour the next day. MR staff were all lovely, kind, caring and efficient.

Shakespeare and his World
Elizabethan scholar Charles Nicholl was our guide and was learned, amiable and accessable, an ideal lecturer and companion. The food and accomofations were excellent and the busy schedule managed with great skill.

A remarkably well-organised river cruise throughout a region we were already familiar with, but which we came to love even more via the expertise of all those involved.
Using the delightful theme of 'Bacchus and Orpheus' as our guide, we cruised the Rhone, accompanied by a delightful musicologist, Professor Richard Langham-Smith, and wine expert, Marc Millon. Journeying from Macon to Avignon, we 'tasted' the best of French music in the most delightful venues the countryside could offer, meanwhile sampling the wines which give this particular area its own uniqueness.

Travelling with Martin Randall, as we have now done several times, we have yet to find a tour operator with representative who are so well-organised, whose tours always feel so unique, and who organise the most satisfying array of performers and performance venues, highlighting the regions through which we are travelling.
