Martin Randall called the tour Opera in Cardiff. But for anyone who had never been to Cardiff in the past 20 years it was a feast of design, and an example of forward democratic city planning, albeit on a small scale, which perhaps makes the final outcome even more of a challenge, as this transformation is still ongoing. Cardiff obviously thinks of itself as a capital city on a par with any other in the world and one it's far flung natives can be proud to return to. It's situation on the waterfront it forever changing iin the ceaseless movement of water and sky which is reflected in the modern architecture surrounding the bay. Long flat walks are easily accessible as are waterborne trips around the bay and up the river Taff. Public transport is much in evidence to try and discourage the use of cars. The main reason for the weekend was to experience Opera for the first time. I was not disappointed . The two performances were excellent. Performed in a venue that is world class and of which the locals are extremely proud. I found the whole weekend very emotional..

I loved the experience of seeing incredible embroideries and other textiles from India's past. We stayed in some wonderful hotels.

As is usual with Martin Randall tours, the itinerary is very full, the content exceptionally good, and the organisation faultless. There is very little free time, but as we are frequently reminded, an MRT tour is not a holiday!

Excellent organisation and content

I went on a Martin Randall holiday to Salzburg. The arrangements were excellent, the Lecturer and the Tour Manager were both first rate. The concerts which we attended were wonderful and the hotel (Hotel Bristol) was excellent too.

The arrangements were very good, and a great deal of care had obviously been put into selecting the various elements of the holiday.

This was my first Martin Randall holiday and I travelled solo. I was made to feel very welcome by hotel staff, the tour guides and also my fellow holiday makers! I was allowed to check in early as my room was ready. The food was excellent and the waiting staff were wonderful. There was 4 concerts by the Schubert Ensemble and I enjoyed them all. The musicians were very informative and sociable. The weekend was well organised and enjoyable from start to finish. It was attended by likeminded people so as a solo traveller, it was very easy to talk and mix with people. I was very impressed with Martin Randall travel company.

It showed that they took the time to organise an enjoyable and informative holiday for its customers. The musicians were of such I high standard playing an enjoyable programme. The tour reps were lovely, very helpful and sociable with all the holiday makers.

Very well organized tour.

As usual, the staff were excellent and most helpful. The concerts were first class and the occasional visits highly enjoyable.

It is always a pleasure to meet new and former staff on these tours. The highlight is awaiting Martin's arrival when we can meet, discuss and learn. This gentleman is perfect for the job. Discreet, witty and very much in charge (without suffocating his staff whom he leaves to perform their duties in silence). This time, it was also a pleasure meeting the charming Mrs Randall. A répéter!
