Everything smooth and kind and efficient

We visited Ely, Lincoln, Durham, York, Coventry, Gloucester, Wells, Salisbury and Lincoln Cathedrals with an excellent lecturer. The group was friendly and engaging, the group dinners were fun and the accusations were generally good.

Martin Randall was just wonderful in terms of giving complete information and in being available to e-mail and phone to give additional information. The lecturer was friendlly and truly THE Expert.

A week of music in Bologna brought alive the musical and gastronomic traditions of this fascinating city. World famous musicians played music composed in Bologna in the original venues, several not open to the public. Lecturers added colour and substance to the music, the architecture and the history of the city.

Martin Randall is an outstanding musical impresario. Music in Bologna re-enacted the Coronation of Charles V in the original venue of the Basilica of San Petronio, made the Chiesa di San Giovanni in Monte echo with Rossini's Stabat Mater and brought back the music of Corelli, Mozart and Puccini to the Academia Filarmonica where it would originally have been heard. Organisation of guests in 5 hotels worked with the precision of a Swiss timepiece.

This was a wonderful marriage of musis and the place in which it was written and played. A veritable feast of the highest quality.

Martin Randall Travel specialises among other things in music festivals of this kind, and shows the highest degree of creativity in their design. The staff too are invariably excellent, with good knowledge o the foreign languages and cultures involved.

The music festival in Bologna was extremely well organized with 7 concerts and 7 lectures in 5 days, tours to experience the rich cultural heritage of the city and free time to explore on our own. A perfect balance of planned activities and free time.

Very responsive to individual queries

The History of Musical Instruments showed us a wealth of early keyboards Instruments in private collections, some very unusual ones indeed. We were treated to explanations by an expert guide, demonstrations of the Instruments, and in some cases we could play these Instruments ourselves. We were fêted and given two excellent meals by the charismatic Signora Giulini, owner of a vast collection of early and later keyboards, and patroness of the arts, in Milan. We were treated to a recital of a Stradivarius violin in a futuristic concert hall in the Museum in Cremona, (home of the torrone), and a very interesting hands-on demonstration by a violin maker about how violins are made. The hotels were very comfortable and the food was delicious. Inland travel was in comfortable coaches. It was a short holiday, but perfectly formed!

I have travelled with Martin Randall Travel on several occasions, and the holidays are always very enjoyable, well thought out, and the attention to detail is second to none. All the staff are intelligent, diligent and efficient. I would rather have one holiday with them than two holidays at half the price with another company, as I know I will have a super time, get good value, and come home with lovely memories. I always travel alone, and am very well looked after by them.

Visited ten cathedrals in nine days. Martin Randall tours handled everything beautifully.

The logistics were well handled, and the tour was well planned. With the exception of the hotel in Wells, the accommodations were very good. We had a top notch tour guide and the tour manager could not have done more to make our experience perfect.
