Martin Randall’s Ancient Cities of Castile and Leon + Camino + Sacred Music in Santiago

Martin Randall is very experienced in cultural tours and has very efficient operations, knowledgeable tour managers and access to venues that might otherwise be difficult to organise. They are a high end company, so the tours are expensive, but worth every cent.

Dark Age Brilliance
Fascinating trip to discover early Christian art 4-7C. Enthusiastic, academic lecturer with charm and a sense of humour. Top grade travel and service during the trip, with delicious food and good accomodation.

Martin Randall : Have traveller with them many times and find they are helpful and use excellent, well informed lectureres

A genuine holiday experience
A journey partly walking and partly by coach along the Camino de Santiago. Commencing with a first night at Roncesvalles it included a learned lecturer and an efficient tour leader who greatly enhanced the journey as did some of the well chosen hotels used on stopovers and selection of sites for visits.

Exciting expedition into the high Andes - with lots of learning and fun.
Mountains, lakes, history, culture, exploration, comfortable accommodation, interesting food, wonderful local contacts - this trip had everything - all facilitated by a topclass guide/lecturer and splendid local guides. Could not have been better - and I brought some fab shopping home!

I can’t speak highly enough of Martin Randall- they are pricey, but you can really see where your money has gone. The trip was extremely well organised, with a very personable, effective and efficient tour manager and excellent lecturer, who is a leading figure in the field of archeology. The hotels were fantastic and the food delicious.

An energetic and enlivening holiday
Travelling around a good deal of England visiting homes of English novelists (some were also poets). We had an excellent leader/tutor who knows not only his subject but also how to inspire others to see more and further into literature.

It focuses on making arts tours (music, literature, art) interesting and informative. Administration is first class and hotels customarily somewhat above average. There is slightly more focus on meals than I entirely welcome but many people do enjoy that aspect.

Walking, listening and leatning more about music in brilliant historical settings, eating well and enjoying good company.
This was a brilliant experience. Martin Randall had gone to great trouble to construct a holiday for us where the musicians and lecturer were carefully selected. The venues were matched with the music and would not , normally, have been available to us.
