A brilliant tour of Venice and Padua to appreciate the art and architecture of this great city. Incredibly knowledgeable guide who lives in the area and gave up her Christmas afternoon and free time to take us on a walking tour to parts of Venice we would not otherwise have covered. Excellent hotel at the centre of the city and brilliant food in up market restaurants. We experienced Aqua Alta as well, an added bonus that did not affect our itinerary, and allowed us to experience the resilience of the Venetians. High tide in the morning in St Marks and 3 hours later drinking coffee in the same square. Amazing.

Very well organised tour with Martin Randall: excellent hotel in the centre of Venice, lovely choice of restaurants and variety of food. Excellent art specialist as our guide who knowledgeable on Venetian art and history and living near Venice knew the city exceptionally well. Good value for money.

A one day magical experience of advent choral music in three interesting and different Church venues in London.

Martin Randall take care of everything. I've been on another of their tours and find their attention to detail really good. they are a first class company and I would trust them for any other tours I might take.

Wonderful string quartet performing four concerts from the 19th and 19th centuries. Very informative pre-concert talks. Comfortable hotel, excellent food.

A wonderful tour of North Western Sicily visiting food producers, eating and drinking and sight seeing. We spent four night in Palermo and three in Marsala. My experience on Italian food and wine was taken to a new level with the help of out lecturer and tour manager. There was a brilliant combination of different activities and free time and excellent travel and accommodation arrangements.

A series of six performances, five of opera and one of a Mass, given in four delightful opera houses built in the 1860s in or near Syracuse, and one church in Ortigia. Brilliant musicians were flown to Sicily to perform for us and comfortable accommodation and travel by coach organised on the island. It was as if a Renaissance Prince had organised a programme of music and dining for our delight.

This was a trip to Venice (with the theme of 'Ruskin's Venice) in the week after Venice had suffered serious flooding affecting churches, museums, hotels, restaurants and other businesses. We were impressed by the resilience of the citizens of Venice and found most of the venues open (with the sad exception of S. Donato in Murano, which was struggling with the aftermath of severe flooding). I learned a lot about Donatello, the Bellinis, Tintoretto and Carpaccio and had a very enjoyable time in convivial company.

First class lecturer with deep knowledge of Ruskin and great love of painting and architecture. Excellent local guide who was passionate about her city and well-informed about its history, economy and art works. Highly competent tour manager who faced considerable challenges efficiently and cheerfully.

A tour de force about Venice through the eyes of John Ruskin. Included a thorough overview of each church, painting, sculpture and architectural decal pertinent to Ruskin. A good variety of churches, museums, cultural sites and historical overview. Superb food and wine.

Martin Randall thought of every detail important to the smooth running of the tour. Venice floods created some challenges, but they weren’t daunted. Guides and tour managers were thorough, lucid and gave us the sense that they cared about the subject and about our satisfaction with the tour. This tour was absolutely packed with information, inspiration and comfort.
