Rwandan Raptures

This trip was about more than just seeing gorillas in the wild. We got to experience the animal and birds in 3 national forests. We got to learn about Rwandan culture and life (King's Palace, Ethnograhic museum, Nyamirambo Walking tour and lunch in Kigali, the Genocide Memorial, Dian Fossey's research center and more). We visited all parts of the small country and enjoyed many hikes in addition to the canopy walk. Words and photos can not adequately ...

Holiday of a lifetime?

Quito was an interesting city with a variety of activities on offer. The experience on the 4 day train journey through Ecuador had some amazing scenery with spectacular views of the volcanos and rural life. The visits to the islands of the Galápagos and the opportunity to see the unique wildlife was an unforgettable experience. Top of my bucket list for holidays!

We have traveled with Kudu several times and have never been disappointed. They are expensive but the value for money is excellent. They really take care of their clients and handle all arrangements efficiently. Our holidays have been entirely relaxing and worry-free

Greece-Walking in the Footsteps of Patrick Leigh Fermor

This new and original tour is based on the writings of Patrick (Paddy) Leigh Fermor who wrote about his walking experience in Greece in the mid fifties. The 11 day tour is focused on three areas of Greece, the monasteries of the Meteora, the villages of the Kravara and the Outer and Deep Mani. The tour is best described as a walking cultural tour and has been well designed by Ruth Hackney, who lives in Areopolis in the Mani. It is a very interesting experience which enables one to get a good perspective on the extreme hardships experienced by the Greeks in this part of the southern Peloponnese as well as the unforgiving and beautiful land they lived in. One can also experience the local cuisine in the different regions visited.

Kudu Travel: Walking in Greece in the Steps of Paddy Leigh Fermor

This was an imaginatively designed walking trip taking in mountainous and the Peleponese regions of mainland Greece in a party of 12 or so. We knew some but not all of the others whom we found v congenial. The lead guide was outstanding, reliable and delightful. The hotels and meals were excellent. The variety of experiences good. The only problem was 3/4 days of rain - some v heavy.

This is our only experience so far of Kudu who seemed reliable and imaginative. The main plus was the excellent guide.

Walks and Music in Austria and Hungary, with Opera in Vienna

A wonderful combination of walking, concert going, museums and sight seeing. This holiday was partly in a popular city and partly off the more beaten tracks. We also enjoyed local cuisine and drinks. It was most enjoyable to visit the small town of Rust on the Neusiedler See and see the storks and to travel by ferry into Hungary and interesting to see rural Hungary. The stay at Schloss Kapfenstein was magical.

A specialist company, which provides a range of holidays. Most holidays have a degree of walking, but not necessarily strenuous. The trips often combine a range of interests, history, architecture, music, flora and wildlife, local culture and cuisine.

Cordoba, Granada & al-Andalus by Mrs A B 16, 11 Oct 2016
Holiday Rating:

A very well thought-out itinerary and an excellently-led trip.

Kudu devised a very well-balanced itinerary with a good mix of culture, walking and local lifestyle (wine tasting, cheese tasting, olive grower visit, flamenco performance etc). Our hotels were delightfully characterful and Kudu arranged excellent restaurant visits enabling us to sample a wide range of dishes and wines. The holiday was not cheap but, with all the attention to detail by the organisers, was good value for money.
