Annapurna and Everest Luxury Lodge Trek

The holiday was a good overview of the Annapurna and Everest region, we stayed in good quality lodges with private facilities and excellent local food. The walking was at an easy pace and meant you had time to enjoy the surroundings and experience the local culture and friendly people. The holiday enabled us to enjoy an area we have always wanted to visit without having to camp and gave us a little bit of comfort

It was the first time we have traveled with KE Adventure and I would say that the service was excellent from start to finish. From the helpful team in the office during booking to the people in country. I would certainly travel with KE again when considering a walking holiday

Trek to Everest Base Camp

The journey itself and the environment are, of course, draw-dropping and awesome, but also very challenging. The pre-trip information was excellent, so I came well-prepared but the support on tour was brilliant easing us through challenges as diverse as coping with the seeming chaos of Lukla airport and coping with 5000m altitude. Food and accommodation obviously followed local standards but were always adequate and often better. Staying in the Yak & Yeti in Kathmandu at the end was a treat

As I've said, all aspects of organisation, pre-trip info and trek leadership were excellent

GREAT FIRST TREK IN NEPAL AND AN AMAZING MEETING!

This was my first visit to Nepal, I chose this specific trip having had my imagination fired after reading Peter Mathiessen's book The Snow Leopard some thirty years ago. The book recounts his search for the Snow Leopard along with the the field biologist George Schaller. Imagine my amazement and delight at meeting 83 year old George Schaller on the second morning of the trek, returning from a reconstruction of the original 1973 trek with Peter's ...

The book recounts his search for the Snow Leopard along with the the field biologist George Schaller. Imagine my amazement and delight at meeting 83 year old George Schaller on the second morning of the trek, returning from a reconstruction of the original 1973 trek with Peter's son. He described his latest trek as a great walk and good exercise! The trek exceeded my expectations, from the green valleys, high passes, arid landscapes and distant snowy peaks. The variation, scale and grandeur was breathtaking, We met mule trains and yak caravans, were welcomed by happy adults and fun loving children in remote villages, proud of their heritage, the old ways still the norm, despite the advent of some solar power. This was exposure to the remote hard life of inner Dolpo, we saw it under clear blue skies and warm daytime temperatures, how hard life must be when winter snows isolate is nearly impossible comprehend. This is an experience that will always live with me.

Road Cycle Tour of Toubkal by Aaron, 6 Nov 2016

Wonderful road cycling trip in Morocco

Fantastic landscapes to cycle in. Hamid, the local guide was an absolute angel and the trip ran very smoothly. Weather added to the challenge with a few windy days and one very wet day. Hotels always clean and varied from good to basic. Always enough food and plenty of nuts and fruit provided in the van along with water. A very enjoyable, adventurous trip.

It was a wonderful experience with a trip to petra to see the siq entrance as shown in Harrison Ford films and the magnificent treasury building. This was complemented with trips on high to Abrahams brothers shrine etc the staff are to be congratulated and even a dramatic lightening storm and wild winds didn't dampen our enthusiasm a great trip you just gotta go to Mars

Inspirational and educational nature trip

A week on a river boaqt on the amazon in Peru. We stayed on a lovely old boat with much charm and amazing crew. We had 2 expert guides who showed us so much wildlife ,birds, trees and plants and taught us so much about life in the amazon. It is heartening to see how the peruvians are trying so hard to preserve their environment and way of life.

Madeira is beautiful in a stunning, rugged way. I've been on two previous KE trips which have been amazing and this one did not fail to impress. Booking was easy and KE arranged private airport transfers for us no problem at all. On the first evening we got to meet up with the rest of the hiking group (12 of us in all) and the wonderful Roberto our guide. What a character he is - he is clearly very passionate about his home and always took the time to answer questions and give information about anything and everything 'Madeira'. Not sure there was anything he did not know and he kept it entertaining throughout. The walks are fantastic and give you a different perspective of Madeira every day. From mountains to Levadas, to forests and tunnels - we had it all. Some of the ascents and descents are steep and challenging however Roberto always gives you the information about what to expect at the evening briefing and everything is included in the KE guide. As expected the weather was mixed, we had some days that were baking hot and others that brought torrential rain. Neither are an issue if you bring the kit that is recommended. Some days the rain was only in one valley or one part of the island. As Roberto knows the island like the back of his hand he was able to adapt and change the routes if it meant that the route would be drier and therefore safer. He was always aware of the ability of the whole group and adapted accordingly. One day he changed the itinerary completely due to weather and previous problems with landslides - the walk he chose for us was incredible and the whole group loved every minute. It was a coastal walk from Boaventura to Beira da Quinta that involved seeing some of the little villages but also included some great climbs and amazing views. All the hotels were comfortable and most had access to swimming pools. Our favourite was the hotel at Paul do Mar where you can go to sleep listening to the sound of the sea - beautiful. Each day there was always plenty of time to relax at lunch and also back at the hotels before dinner. All in all I can highly recommend this holiday and again want to say a huge thank you to Roberto 'el capitan' (as we called him) for making the trip and fantastic as it was. You have an amazing guide there KE

Rating for tour operator:

KE are fantastic. Very easy to book with, they are always on hand to answer any questions you have and communication is great. They use local guides to ensure that travellers get the most from their holiday. As i can see that they are not taking bookings for some trips at the moment due to political issues in those countries i feel assured that i can trust them as a tour operator and will certainly be booking with them again in the future

The Laya Trek by tortoise, 31 Oct 2016
Holiday Rating:

challenging and culturally fascinating trek

It was a challenging trek crossing 4 high passes, but we also had the opportunity to meet local people, watch a village archery competition and visit a local school where we were able to interact with the children. We also visited Punakha Dzong and the Tiger's Nest Monastery. The scenery was spectacular and the company congenial and supportive. We had an outstanding cook whose repertoire seemed endless.
