Ultimate Everest Holiday

KE did a fantastic job taking care of all the details, leaving group members able to focus on the challenge and the experience. The arrangements were virtually flawless, and the guide team was wonderfully pleasant and concerned for all. Excellent work, highly recommended.

Dhaulagiri Circuit via the Frenc by Clare, 23 Nov 2016

Dhaulagiri circuit via French pass - a fantastic experience

Dhaulagiri circuit via the French pass was a fantastic holiday encompassing trekking through villages and also high altitude climbing and scenery. There were 13 clients and we all got on very well making this a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I loved the high altitude section of the trek with marvellous views of Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna range. Definitely a trip to consider if you have not been to this area.

Rating for tour operator:

KE are an excellent service provider. Service was good from pre-booking advice right through to the trip itself. The trip leader was professional at all times and had a wealth of experience including summiting Everest twice! In addition to being very capable he was extremely personable and had a good sense of humour. The cook team was marvellous and kept us all well fed and healthy throughout the trip. KE offer a range of trips that are not offered by many of the other trekking companies which, when you have been on as many treks as I have is an important consideration. I would not hesitate to use KE again.

Land of the Living Mountains - Indonesia

I loved the fact that we visited Java, Bali and Lombok and so got a good insight into the different cultures. It was great to see a number of very different volcanoes close up and I enjoyed the 1/2 day snorkelling I did.

Ultimate Everest Trek visiting the Gokyo Lakes, crossing the Cho La pass and climbing Gokyo Ri and Kala Patar

A great route over mixed trekking terrain. The crossing of the Cho La pass was quite challenging. We were well looked after by our group leader and his Sherpa team. The area was absolutely stunning and the mountain scenery truly awesome. Overall this was an incredible experience, never to be forgotten.

KE organised an excellent trekking tour and all worked extremely well in a country that does not have a sophisticated outris industry.

Sikkim - Beneath Kangchenjunga T by David, 21 Nov 2016

Inspiring scenery and deserted trails

This two-week trek starts in lush forests, and gradually climbs to the stark beauty of exposed ridges and passes with views to Everest as well as Kangchenjunga, eventually reaching awe-inspiring views of Kangchenjunga at only a few km distance from the moraine ridges of Goetcha La. For a week, we saw no-one except our own party. While the walking is not on its own particularly hard, the consistent high altitude (more than a week above 4000m) ...

For a week, we saw no-one except our own party. For me, the objective of undertaking this trek was twofold - first and foremost I relished the opportunity to personally witness the results of the fantastic work the Juniper Trust has undertaken (and continues to do so). It was an overwhelmingly unique privilege which I find difficult to express in words. Secondly it served as a means of helping me recover from a particularly difficult patch in my life, giving me a challenge and purpose on which to focus that wasn't all about myself. Likewise, the trip itself can be clearly divided into two very different sections. The first part was the trek from Jiri to Surke (just South of Lukla) where for days the only other people we saw were local Nepalis, both at the schools we visited and passing through their settlements. This for me was what I like to call "The Real Nepal" giving us a taste of how these remarkable people manage with so few resources; friendly, beautiful people always with a smile and a greeting, always keen to share what little they have with strangers. At each school we visited, we were treated like Royalty, with such enthusiasm and generosity that it was a humbling experience. Western children could learn a lot from their Nepali counterparts. The second part of the trip served the same purpose as the first, but the difference here was marked. We were now on the official tourist route from Lukla towards Everest Base Camp, so it was a much busier walk, meeting fellow trekkers from all over the world. It also gave an insight into how hard the locals work to support the tourist industry, experiencing both people and animals carrying unbelievably heavy loads of supplies up into the higher altitude areas. In all, we visited nine schools, witnessing the extensive work that the Juniper Trust has achieved, using only volunteers and hard work, and providing much needed local employment. Abhishek and Yalambar were the two local volunteer project managers who have both made a profound impact on the lives of the teachers and children of their beautiful Motherland. Our two great guides, Man and Jumba, were both excellent, attentive and knowledgable. Three local porters carried our gear, for which we were all grateful. Last but not least my sincere thanks go to Glenn Rowley, the driving force behind the project, and the trek leader. Long may his enthusiasm and drive continue. If you get the opportunity to go on this trek I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Long live Dhal Bhat!!

Rating for tour operator:

I have used KE Adventure twice now and both times I have found it impossible to find fault with anything they do. Communication is excellent throughout, staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, their brochures and website accurately describe the holiday, and the local guide they use are obviously hand picked for their excellent customer service, professionalism and local knowledge. I am already planning my next holiday with them.

Amazing unique trek

The holiday combined trekking in Nepal with supporting the Juniper Trust which has rebuilt schools post earthquake. You trek in remote parts of Nepal, visiting villages and gaining a sense of the heart of the country.

Walking Lanzarote - The Island o by belman, 16 Nov 2016
Holiday Rating:

Fabulous week's walking on a lovely island with great guid and company.

We walked the GR 131 from south to north on Lanzarote.5 days walking and one day on the island of Graciosa. Picnic lunches every day which were excellent and varied and well chosen restaurants for the evening meals. The guide was first class - organised, knowledgeable and very good company. We had a cultural bit at the end of some days and these were very interesting.
