Excellent holiday on a bed and breakfast basis in a centrally located hotel (Palma city centre).

Railway themed holiday based in Palma Mallorca in March 2018. The hotel was centrally based in Palma giving access to the town shops, historic areas and seafront/marina. The holiday was spent traveling on the railway systems of Mallorca including an historic elderly tramway as well as the railway lines to Sa Pablo and Manacor. The tour guide was good in providing information of each days activities and making travel arrangements.

Used Festiniog Travel before on a couple of bespoke trips organised by them and a trip to Switzerland in 2017. Very efficient and helpful travel company.

Unforgettable

India met all of our expectations, from travel, hotels (which were exceptional), people we met, tour guides, steam trains, tour manager, and all the sights and smells that India had to offer.

Although we had never used Ffestiniog Travel before, we found them helpful (even before we travelled) and efficient. We will definitely use them again.

A wonderful mixture of Sri Lankan trains, wildlife, culture and scenery.

There can be few better ways of seeing beautiful Sri Lanka than with your own private train! We had a superb local guide (and his personal interest in birdwatching was an added bonus), and the Sri Lankan railway staff were always very welcoming. The hotels were excellent, and the balance of travelling and visits about right. A nice bunch of people on the tour as well.

Norwegian Coast and Northern Lights (Hurtigruten)

One of my cherished ambitions has long been to see the Northern Lights. Add in unprecedented fine weather for February, with snow covered mountains bathed in sunshine, Hurtigruten's attention to detail aboard the MS Lofoten, and the warm family atmosphere that prevails among the crew of this much loved old ship, and you have the ingredients of a relaxing, unforgettable holiday of a lifetime. Recommended unreservedyly.

FFestiniog Travel provided the knowledge and expertise associated with their experience in this sector of the travel industry. Liz Turner, who made the arrangements for me, was knowledgeable and helpful, and identified things I had n't thought of. It was most reassuring to travel in the knowledge that hotels, planes, trains had all been taken care of. FR Travel support was an integral part of the success of the holiday, and I would recommend FR Travel without hesitation.

Fantastic trip to the land of the Northern Lights

We had a fantastic trip to Norway and Sweden, travelling by planes, trains, ships and coach. The itinerary was extremely well-balanced between organised activities and time when we were free to devise our own plans. The mix of transport meant that even though we spent quite a bit of time travelling, each journey had something special to offer. We covered a surprising amount of distance and saw some wonderful scenery. The weather was great ...

Throughout the booking process Ffestiniog Travel kept in touch as appropriate. During the holiday our tour leader was always available when we needed him, but was very relaxed and informal which we appreciated. Weather conditions in the UK meant out flight home was delayed but Ffestiniog Travel did everything they could and organised a hotel and transport in Heathrow which meant that the inconvenience to us was minimal

Snow on the Alps 2018

So I achieved everything I had planned.

I have travelled with this operator a number of times and they have always accommodated my individual travel and accommodation plans, which have sometimes differed to those for the main tour group. This is a real plus.

It did what it promised

To someone excited by Railway Engineering and Operation in difficult terrain it was superb, and living in UK where even a mention of snow causes chaos it was inspiring to see how Switzerland continues to function in several feet of snow. The train journeys in First Class comfort through miles of mind blowing snow covered mountains was sensational.
