Snow on the alps meant what it said this year. We have never seen so much snow and we have bee several times on the Xmas holiday

Escorted tour to Switzerland in the winter with flexibility in travel arrangements and free time to do what you want, in addition to well-organised excursions. Conveniently located good quality hotels.

Ffestiniog Travel are very good at arranging personalised variations on their escorted holidays. Tour Leaders are available if you need any help but are happy to let you do what you want without being regimented.

We thoroughly enjoyed our "Snow in the Alps" railway journey. Each day was spectacular: the railway trip to Arosa, including a brilliant sleight ride in the snow; travelling on the Bernina Express to Torino, including dinner onboard the train on the return; travelling on the Glacier Express into a world of snow and sunshine; a day in Zermatt and going up to the Gronergrat, - seeing the Matterhorn in its full glory (blue skies and sunshine). We can only recommend this trip!

The whole trip had been brilliantly organised and our tour escort made sure that everything run smoothly - he was personal and efficient.

The holiday starts from home and we travel to Munich on our first day. We stay in a lovely hotel 'Alfa Centre' which is a short walk from the station and very comfortable (arranged by FT). We have a meal in a local traditional restaurant and we are ready to leave the next morning for our ski destination in Kufstein.

Our tailor-made arrangements are superb and so easy to understand, all information of our trip is laid out clearly which helps our holiday get off to a great start and the journey home is just as easy! The hotel in Munich is fabulous, the operator has done an excellent job with the itinerary to make sure everything runs smoothly and it does

This was a self-planned and self-guided trip in concept, with the key being my wife and I decided on and implemented our own itinerary once in Spain; this we did. We requested Ffestiniog Travel to arrange for air travel to and from Spain, rail service between Barcelona and Madrid, and hotel accommodations. In all respects, everything was superbly done. The two hotels were excellent - from staff availability and amiability, rooms, breakfasts, location to sites, and access to local transportation (we used the Metro). We had heard for years about Ffestiniog from a friend and finally used them; we shall do so again later this year for a planned visit to Paris and the region northeast of the city.

I am unsure what this question means. If by "tour operator" is mean Ffestiniog Travel and their making the requested arrangements, then outstanding (see comments above). If what is meant a guided tour, then this is non-applicable as my wife and I did not want a tour planned and controlled by an organization. We prefer to travel on our own plan controlling where we go, what we see, how long we stay, etc. Travel and accommodation arrangements are another matter - and that is why we used Ffestiniog Travel.

Two weeks travelling around and exploring Switzerland using the Swiss Travel Pass, based in Interlaken, Lausanne and Chur. Highly enjoyable and well organised tour in good company with fine accommodation but with plenty of scope for independent travel and visits.

Highly competent operator, large enough to be able to offer an attractive range of holidays but small enough to provide a personalised service with tailor made variations on tours.

We travelled by train to Interlaken, Lausanne & Chur. Plenty of time to travel using our first class Swiss Pass.We saw lots of snow, mountains & skiers.

Very well organised. Lots of information provided before the holiday. Very good tour manager who sorted out all our problems.
