The organisation was done well but there were drawbacks with the accommodation, both in Paris and Abbeville

Ffestiniog Travel was running a tour to a railway gala and, at our request, arranged a few extra days for us at one of the locations. Communications were good beforehand and travel went well.

3 nights hotel accommodation in the centre of Porthmadog with an all-day pullman tour on 80 miles of narrow gauge steam railway in Snowdonia, then a behind-the-scenes tour of the Ffestiniog railway workshop the following morning. In our free time, we took some pleasant walks in the area and a short side-trip by train to Criccieth and its castle.

Ffestiniog Travel were a pleasure to deal with: clear descriptions of the offer and options; flexible response to our requests; prompt confirmation of the package; timely delivery of all tickets, etc well before departure.

It was a 3day holiday based around the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways.

Have used them many times previously and they have always provided an excellent experience. They provide an excellent range of railway based tours covering a number of interesting destinations. They also cater for tailor-made tours.

Visit to Baie de Somme steam festival in Haute de France. Beautiful location and busy two days at steam festivaal, with interesting selection of steam and other trains.

Railway themed holiday operator, that tends to use trains to get to destinations and does railways light, so that travellers can choose the level of railway content they want to enjoy.

Ffestiniog travel did an exallant job.

We travelled independently taking the Eurostar from London to Paris and staying two nights. Then on to Innsbruck for another two nights. We stayed with our relatives in the East of Austria for three nights before travelling on to Zurich on a nine hour trip which took us through beautiful landscapes. We took the TGV service from Zurich to Paris connecting with Eurostar back to London.

We have used this tour operator for over 15 years and we have had excellent service. The helpfulness of staff to devise itineraries and their knowledge of rail tickets and local hotels is exemplary. In fact we have mentioned this operator to several people and they have been impressed too.
