Ffestiniog Travel were a very efficient tour operator

We chose this tour operator and holiday on the recommendation of a friend. A very enjoyable and rewarding holiday which did not disappoint. We have not undertaken a rail holiday before and this appealled to us, especially for this destination and time of year. Snow on the Alps took us to Switzerland, which had enough snow to satisfy the description of the tour. In most aspects where the tour opertor had control the holiday delivered what we expected. The reliability of German railways led to some tense moments, but overall everything ran very smoothly, aided by a friendly and helpful tour leader. Although organised trips were arranged each day, we took advantage of free days where we could do our own thing.

Travel and hotel arrangements and itinerary were handled very well by Ffestiniog Travel, who went out of their way to be helpful and provide all necessary information and travel documents in a timely and helpful way.

We were well informed before the trip with information that proved to be accurate during the tour. They were very helpful in sorting out a problem with one of our fellow travellers.

Purpose of the holiday was to travel on several of Switzerland’s panoramic rail lines (Glacier Express, Golden Pass line, Voralpen line,etc), and to visit Lucerne for 2 days. Also to go up Mount Rigi and get there via boat and train.

Ffestiniog Travel have organised several holidays for us. We tell them where, when and how we want to go and they’ve organised everything for us. All arrangements have worked well and my sister and I have enjoyed each trip.

Arwel at Ffestiniog Travel went out of her way to research different solutions for us to choose from for our holiday which needed to be on specific dates to meet up with a relative flying in from Australia and we wanted to include at least some train travel. Once we had selected our itinerary, we paid a deposit and before the holiday she sent us an excellent booklet and information about every stage of our journeys and accommodation.
