As always, Ffestinog Travel provided all the information we needed for our holiday, and the arrangements worked exactly as requested. The Hotel Ambassador in Brig was well located, being just 5 minutes from the railway station. We had a comfortable stay there. The weather was better than expected, and despite the forecast we saw little rain. A few words of advice for anyone contemplating in holiday in Switzerland at this time of year (May). This is the in-between period between the ski season (which ends in April) and the Summer season (which starts in June). While we expected some attractions would not be open at this time, we were not expecting so many cafes and restaurants to also be closed. We went up to the Aletsch Arena above the Rhone Valley, where you can see the famous glacier, but there was nowhere at all to get a drink or any food, in the Bettmeralp and Riederalp areas. This was surprising as there were several other tourists up there. That apart, we thought May was a good time to go, but be aware that some things may be closed.

As always Ffestiniog Travel responded quickly to our request and provided and draft itinerary and quote, saying we could modify it if we wanted to. They had given us the holiday we wanted, so there was no need to do this. They did answer a query we had about entry to Schengen area countries promptly and reassuringly. The travel documents came a fortnight before departure, giving us plenty of time to study them and check we had all we needed.. We will definitely book with them again.

Independent Train travel based holiday through France and Northern Spain staying in hotels in Paris both ways, 2 nights in Bordeaux, 3 nights in San Sebastion and 2 nights in Bilbao with pre booked day tours. Ffestiniog Travel booked all hotels and trains for us based on our ideas of an itinerary. It all went smoothly, tickets were provided and lots of information, including timetables where pre booked tickets were not posible and we had to purchas ticlets locally whilst on holiday..

ffestiniog travel took our idea of an itinerary and turned it into an holiday by booking all train tickets and booking us into hotels close to the railway stations but close enough to the sites of interest. This saves us stress and time.
