Our tour enabled us to sample the highlights of Sri Lanka, to learn about its history and culture, to be stunned by its large range of beautiful scenery, and to enjoy the colourful plants, birds and other wildlife. Our hotels were all enjoyable and often luxurious. We loved Sri Lankan food, it was incredibly varied, we never had the same curry twice and perfect for a vegetarian and a fish-lover (although lots of meat choices too). We had a good mixture of guided tours, travel and opportunities to relax, whether in beautiful hotel pools, or on the beach enjoying the warm sea, soft sand and beautiful views.

They were very pleasant to deal with, very efficient at answering queries promptly, and arranged an individual itinerary for us which met all our expectations. All their arrangements worked well.

We spent a week on the beach in Koh Lanta Thailand followed by a few days in Bangkok. Two us then went for a couple of nights to the River Kwai and the others stayed in Bangkok and did a day trip to Ayuttaya. We then went to Chang Mai on the over night sleeper for a few days. We travelled further by car to Chang Rai where we went on a day trip to the mountains. We then crossed into Laos and took a few days to travel down the Mekong by boat, stopping off at night at some interesting places before arriving at Luang Prabang . Finally we took a plane back to Thailand via Bangkok to a beach resort on Koh Yao for the last week.

Our tour operator followed our brief well and selected hotels and activities that suit us. All the arrangements went smoothly and it was overall an excellent experience.

47 days touring Sri Lanka leisurely. A woderful experience

The firm provided us with a excellent bespoke tour There agent listened and provided us with everything we requested . There agents in Sri Lanka took great care of us and monitored our progress carefully.

Flew to Chiang Rai, N Thailand, crossed the border into Laos and then spent three fabulous days cruising down the Mekong to Luang Prabang. Three nights in Luang Prabang followed by two in the Plain of Jars. From there to Vientiane and finally down to Pakse/4,000 islands in southern Laos for some R & R before returning to the UK via Bangkok.

We have used Experience Travel now on four occasions and consider their destination knowledge and understanding of travellers requirements and preferences to be excellent.

We visited the cultural triangle, Kandy, had a train ride to hill country, safari at Uda Walawe beach stay near Tangalle and stayed in the old fort at Galle We stayed in small boutique hotels with great service & food. Sri Lanka is a very beautiful friendly country.

A wonderful holiday, based around Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Khao lak, which allowed us to enjoy stunning hotels while using selected 'experiences' to understand the history and culture of this lovely country - as seen through the eyes of enthusiastic and knowledgeable local ambassadors.

The package evolved by Experience Travel - listening to our preferences - reflected exactly our hopes and limitations, in that we didn't want to rush from one tourist attraction to the next, without ever getting below the surface. The hotels recommended were each sympathetic to the location and setting and were all of a very high standard; the transport links, connections and local services were mostly faultless, but always attentive, and the guides on the excursions were personal, responsive, thoughtful and flexible to our needs. All our hopes for this holiday were exceeded.

Stunning scenery in Ha Long Bay and the Hoi Van Pass. Authentic tours show casing the Street food scene and the relaxed rural life of water buffalo in rice fields. Exhilarating tours on vintage Vespas and speedboats on the Mekong. Rich in history with heart breaking remnants of war. Vietnam has it all - a trip to cherish and remember.
