The joys of a wild, unspoiled area of Scotland

The guide's knowledge of the geology, flora and fauna and his ability to explain and inform the group added to the experience. In addition, the guide was very observant and quick to spot interesting wildlife, which ensured we had the thrill of an excellent viewing of two Golden Eagles circling the skies together and on another day two young otters, fishing and playing together.

Rating for tour operator:

Wilderness Scotland is an excellent small company which operates in wild unspoiled areas of Scotland. Their philosophy of "minimum impact" is very much in keeping with this.

Wilderness hiking in the Orkneys

Wilderness Scotland organized a hiking tour and it was fantastic. From my very first inquiry to the trip itself, everyone was helpful and friendly. The guide, Tim, was wonderful. He found out what we were all interested in and tried to tailor the trip to our preferences. He was so knowledgeable on Scottish history, archaeology and wildlife and native plant life. Scottish Sea Kayak Trail South by Richard B, 3 Aug 2015

Well organised and guided sea kayak trip up West coast of Scotland.

Very much a luxury way of paddling along sections of the Sea Kayak trail towards Oban, staying in hotels rather than roughing it camping enroute. Very much a luxury way of paddling along sections of the Sea Kayak trail towards Oban, staying in hotels rather than roughing it camping enroute. Guides did an excellent job matching everyone's paddling abilities with prevailing weather and sea conditions. Always felt safe whilst developing confidence and paddling experience by controlled exposure to more testing conditions (crossing to Isle of Gigha was particularly memorable although we returned by ferry after sea state became much rougher). The holiday was not cheap but costs well reflected in quality of hotels, transport, sea kayak equipment and experience of the 2 guides. A fantastic and memorable adventure.

Rating for tour operator:

From first contact very well organised. Kept regularly updated with e-mails. Also lots of helpful advice about what to take on the trip etc. Any queries were responded to very efficiently. Everything on trip ran like clockwork reflecting good organisation behind the scenes. Guides were also excellent with very good people skills and worked hard to ensure that everyone enjoyed their holiday adventure.

Active Scotland Adventure

We recently had an amazing 9 day holiday that took us from Edinburgh to Fort William, the Isle of Skye and Aviemore and back. Our Guide, Pete, was just fantastic! He was able to manage a diversified group from teen boys to an 80 year old Granny. From booking, exploring and to departure, our trip was supremely enjoyable. We were only able to scratch the surface of Scotland has to offer and we all look forward to a return trip.

superb

A week learning to handle a sea kayak on the Lochs and coastline of North West Scotland. Met with a great group of people who all made the trip even better and added to the great memories I have of this trip. Accommodated in a remote bunkhouse on the shore of Loch Torridon, and with superb guides to ensure everything ran as smoothly as possible and the experience was one to remember with achievement and fondness.
