Walking - The West Highland Way by Canadianhiker, 12 Oct 2022

Loved every step of the West Highland Way!

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more incredible hike and experience Scotland the way we did on our 8 day hike. It was the perfect blend of beautiful views, lovely people, amazing accommodations and food and a proper challenge to complete. Will recommend it to everyone we know who enjoys hiking.

We had a fantastic trip hiking the West Highland Way thanks in large part to the thoughtful, professional and organized trip arranged through Wilderness Scotland. The trip exceeded our expectations, particularly the opportunity to upgrade and stay in amazing places.

The best walking experience in every way!

We completed the West Highland Way recently, having booked the entire experience through Wilderness Scotland, including accommodation and bag transfers along the way. It was well organised with excellent communication, advice and follow up throughout. The walk itself is amazing and quite achievable for anyone with a relatively good level of fitness. Our accommodation was generally of a very high standard, with only one exception and that ...

It was well organised with excellent communication, advice and follow up throughout. The walk itself is amazing and quite achievable for anyone with a relatively good level of fitness. Our accommodation was generally of a very high standard, with only one exception and that was purely a case of there being no other options available to suit our schedule. All in all I would highly recommend both Wilderness Scotland and the West Highland Way itself.

Rating for tour operator:

Wilderness Scotland were extremely efficient and easy to deal with. Unfortunately our original booking needed to be rescheduled due to Covid and all happened without any issues.

As always, Wilderness Scotland did a fabulous job!

I've just returned from my 2nd trip with Wilderness Scotland, The Orkney Islands. It was a fabulous trip with a perfect mix of walking, history and archeology. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge, and our accommodations and food in Orkney were wonderful. The trip was well organized, and our guide and the company went above and beyond when there was a problem with the ferry back to theScottish mainland. We were all impressed. Group sizes are ...

Our guide was a wealth of knowledge, and our accommodations and food in Orkney were wonderful. The trip was well organized, and our guide and the company went above and beyond when there was a problem with the ferry back to theScottish mainland. We were all impressed. Group sizes are capped at 8 participants, and that's a perfect group size for walking. You can find this exact trip at https://www.wildernessscotland.com/adventure-holidays/wilderness-walking/orkney-isles/ I highly recommend it or any other Wilderness Scotland trip that looks good.

Awesome hiking in remote Scotland

We travelled in a circle around Scotland from urban Edinburgh to wild Glencoe to beautiful Skye to the Cairngorms. It was amazingly lovely, great hotels and a great guide that took us on hiking trails that were just right challenge for us.

Our guide was amazing and organized. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable and truly wanted us to have our best vacation. The venues were varied and well thought out. We hiked, kayaked, ferried, and cruised. We had modern, fancy and remote hotels. Everything went very smoothly. Our reservations were made and confirmed for the hotels and restaurants. It was great.

A great and varied cycling holiday in the Scottish Borders.

250 miles on interesting roads, over 6 days and through some beautiful scenery with included excursions as part of the package. Support from the guides was first class and we were closely monitored and provided with assistance round the entire route and on the extra tours.

Wilderness Scotland supplied a very well organised holiday and our 2 tour guides were fantastic in their guidance and support of a varied group of cyclists. The organisation and execution of the trip were excellent in what could be difficult conditions for customers.
