Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan Wild Frontiers Wild Mountains and Fabled Cities

Fantastic experience in the wild mountains of Kyrgyzstan and the Silk Route cities of Uzbekistan. Well organised, well planned 2 week trip that fully met expectations for wild, rough, "off the beat and track" adventure for a small group (8 persons). A step away from your normal tourist traps and memories that will remain forever. I would strongly recommend Wild Frontiers to anyone who seeks safe, well planned adventure to unspoiled interesting ...

Travelling the mountains and roads of Kashmir, India

Fabulous trip, over mountain roads, often at very high altitudes, and staying in hotels and tents in remote areas. Visiting stunning Buddhist Temples, and remote villages. Excellent food everywhere. All the guides were excellent, as were the drivers (you felt very safe, even on dubious roads). The mountains and landscapes were wonderful and the Kashmiri people friendly and welcoming. Visit Kashmir. It is very beautiful and they need tourists.

Wild Frontiers is an excellent tour operator. At all times we felt safe and well looked after. Pre-tour information was thorough and any queries were answered quickly and in detail. Our main tour guide [Mr Bhopal Singh) was excellent, as were the local guides and the drivers. I thoroughly recommend them.

Kashmir and more!

This was a jam packed adventure that was filled with both cultural, spiritual sights and great food. Everyday there was something new to learn about and experience. I enjoyed Mayur Hada, the Trip Leader so much from my past tour (Taj, Tigers & Temples Nov 2016) that I choose to travel with him again. He is a gem!!! Loved our time in Kashmir, it was safe and lovely...don't be afraid to go to this picturesque place while you can.

Amazing experience

A wonderful trip to Iran which exceeded all expectations. So many preconceived ideas were overturned and the welcome from the local people was amazing. As for the sights, history and atmosphere - just fantastic.

Great Walking Tour with Wild Frontiers in Montenegro

The walking was in stunning scenery and we were blessed with good weather. The Tour Leader and Local Guide were excellent in every respect and the organisation was faultless. Staying in a variety of accommodation ranging from mountain huts to hotels, we experienced the friendly Montenegrin hospitality and fantastic local food....not to mention copious quantities of raki that seemed to be offered at every stop!

Rating for tour operator:

We believe that the varied, adventurous and sometimes challenging itineraries that Wild Frontiers put together in both out of the way (we have been to Pakistan) and on your doorstep (such as Montenegro) locations set Wild Frontiers apart from their competition. We will definitely continue to travel with Wild Frontiers and cannot recommend them high enough for similar adventurous, ethically-minded travellers.

Walking in Romania - a whole new world

Walking in Romania is an experience never to be forgotten. Glorious scenery, invigorating walking, the thrill of climbing to the top of a mountain, deep history and insights into traditional cultures and customs still going strong in tandem with more contemporary technology.

Living in a tales book.

The tour was very well prepared. Our tour leader, Denise, is excellent. They choosed the best places to see and enjoy. I felt like living in a tales book, those I used to read when I was a child. Samarkand, Bukhara... to name only two, were magical names. And now, I was there! Also living in a yurt or in a homestay. Knowing how life is there. Thank you Wild Frontiers for preparing such a wonderful tour!

An adventure in the Tajik Pamirs and Wakhan Afganistan.

More than a holiday, this was a real trip of a lifetime. The organisation by Wild Frontiers enabled much to be included in the time available, while still maintaining a sense of adventure (planned or otherwise!). Anyone (there was a 76 yr old in our group!) with a sense of adventure and a thirst for the unusual should consider.

RECONNAISSANCE TREK IN KYRGYZSTAN

A small group of like-minded people who enjoy the challenges and, more importantly, the rewards of "off-the-beaten" path travel: it's a recipe for an exciting, rewarding, and engaging experience. WILD FRONTIERS and their local contacts provided great care and attentiveness: we, the customers, felt in very good and well-informed hands, but we also felt at home with our Kyrgyz "hosts." The scenery was inspiring, but more exciting were the chance and serendipitous encounters with "the keepers of the yurts," who greeted us warmly and enthusiastically despite the challenges of language. It was a terrific introduction to a country that is not well-known but should be!

Rating for tour operator:

As I say above, WILD FRONTIERS and their local contacts in Kyrgyz assembled a friendly, attentive, warm, and gracious crew, and I always felt safe and respected. We were fed heartily and promptly, usually with "tea" waiting for us when we completed our day's hike.
