Excellent from the moment we made the initial enquiry. Whoever we spoke to they were knowledgable about the holiday and kept us informed about the progress of visas.

Azerbaijan: a beautiful country with kind elegant people and superb sites and food and local guide

This was an 8 day group trip with 3 more days added in Baku. The arrangements on the tour were superb and two of the hotels in particular were outstanding in comfort and design. The food throughout the whole tour was plentiful with healthy salads, eaten both in gardens outdoors and also inside in restaurants; all were very enjoyable in lovely surroundings. The guide was very helpful and efficient and passed his love of Azerbaijan on to us. Driver was very steady and safe. Absolute highlights were the mud volcanoes and petroglyphs, Sheki Palace (which reminded me of Shiraz in Iran), Baku old city and the modern architecture of Baku. I spent hours in and around the Baku Cultural Centre designed by Zaha Hadid, as it took my breath away, it is so stunning. Our tour group members were also very friendly and easy to get along with and made the trip an extra success. I was so sorry to leave Azerbaijan and hope to visit again soon.

Rating for tour operator:

Their arrangements are superb from start to finish. really prompt response times to any queries. They tend to include Central Asia and Iran and Russia with more unusual tours. Small groups and also independent arrangements can be worked in, too. Highly recommended.

Fabulous trip in a misunderstood country

This trip gave an excellent overview of Iran's main highlights and some hidden gems as well. There was plenty of opportunity to talk to the wonderfully warm and welcoming people of Iran. The hotels were clean and comfortable and the transport of a very high standard; much appreciated as there were a few days that covered a lot of miles. We had an top clas guide who was a mine of information and a an excellent driver.

Undiscovered Destination s are a great company to travel with. They are very knowledgeable and were extremely helpful when the visa process changed at very short notice. They sorted out an issue that I had very promptly. The tours are very well put together and excellent value for money. I also really like the smaller group size; never more than 12, which lends itself to a much more enjoyable experience.

Fantastic trip to Iran

We have just enjoyed a14 day holiday in Iran which opened our eyes to today's modern Iran rather than that portrayed by the media. Whilst the monuments and cities were often stunning the most enjoyable part of the holiday was the interaction with the local people. They were so friendly and keen to chat with us on all aspects of life both in Iran and in the West. We have travelled a lot but never felt so safe or so welcomed.

Great trip around Laos get there before it changes.

We toured around Laos from Luang Prabang through the countryside including climbing waterfalls night time river safaris, local villages and jungle tours. Local markets which you just have to see to believe. You have to arrange to go and see this interesting country which is sandwiched between the two tourist giants of Thailand and Vietnam and is so very different from both of them.

Undiscovered Destinations did it again. I have no idea how they manage to understand exactly what I want from a trip and match the itinerary so well. They always seem to provide something special and all credit to them for knowing the locations so well and matching these to my requirements. Also the price is competative and you are assured of value for the money you spend.

A comprehensive travel in Silk Road territory

A fairly comprehensive travel around the major sights of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan - a small group with efficient local guides who all had a good knowledge of English and good senses of humour.

An amazing experience that differed significantly from what was advertised

A journey through west Africa starting in rapidly developing Senegal and travelling into Guinea Bissau parts of which haven't changed in centuries. Hot and dusty , a fascinating mix of French and Portugese colonial culture venturing far off the tourist track. The Bijagos archipelago provides an ancient and remote tribal culture and some rare wildlife viewing opportunities.

Undiscovered destinations are well informed and well organised - although their foreign counterparts sometimes try to scupper their carefully considered plans !

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately your tour was subject to some unexpected changes. After further investigation we realised that inadvertently we had sent you an old version of the tour itinerary. From time to time changes will be made to tours, often based on feedback or suggestions from our travellers. Although any changes are always made with the primary aim of improving the experience for our customers, it is important that any amendments to the advertised programme are advised before departure. On this occasion due to an exceptionally busy period in our office we failed to do this and I apologise for any inconvenience caused. I am pleased that you still had an amazing experience in what is a little visited corner of Africa. Jim Louth, Director, Undiscovered Destinations.
