In-depth tour of Baltic States

We spent one day in Helsinki before taking the ferry to Tallin. The tour over two weeks took us throught Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It was so well organised with only 4 participants. Our guides were nationals of all the countries that we visited and very professional, well informed and enthusiastic, proud of their countries. We learned so much about the history, culture and caracter of the areas we visited.

The roads are indeed awful but it means the pace of the holiday allows you to really engage with the countryside as you are travelling. The national parks are interesting and varied. Hotels were better than expected and the food was plentiful and well presented, It is a very poor country and its best to be prepared for the amount of begging in both the cities and in the countryside.

Kept us well informed before we travelled and answered all our queries honestly.. The price was very good for all the inclusions we had.

Thank you for your feedback. We're delighted that you enjoyed travelling in Madagascar. Indeed, economically it is a very poor country, but one that is rich in wildlife and biodiversity. On behalf of our local team, we truly appreciate your decision to travel us and we hope to welcome you on another trip in the future.

Personalised holidays tailored to you

Jim at Undiscovered organised 2 holidays to Thailand and a fly drive to the USA in New England. Being greedy we had two holidays to celebrate a 50th and 60th birthdays. Both were tailored and they were designed bb Jim based upon our wishes and his personal experiences. The trip to Thailand was multi centred and the local guides were excellent and turned up on time. Excellent value and delivered what I said on the tin! He made our expectations real and guided us to what was achievable and worthwhile. The fly drive to Boston and New England was excellent. The choice of destinations , driving time and the advice to avoid the freeways was spot on. I just wish we had more time to explore. We managed to find lots of places to visit based upon his suggested driving routes. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

Rating for tour operator:

Nothing was too much trouble. The plan worked like clockwork and everything planned went as expected. He also made sure what we wanted to do was achievable and we could enjoy it. No point in trying to squeeze to much in so it can’t be appreciated. So use the expertise that’s there and let them guide you to a memorable experience.

Had an excellent time on the trip arranged for me (group tour and 2 bespoke extensions.

I went on a 7-day trip to Azerbaijan (Land of Fire) and the company arranged 2 bespoke extensions (4 day in Nackchivan) and 4-5 day trek in the caucus mountains. Overall, the trip was excellent (highlight was Nackchivan, the trek in the Caucus mountains was also good) but there were a few issues on the trip: 1, I wasn't met at the airport on arrival, had to contact he local company to send someone around which took a long time, 2, On the first ...

Overall, the trip was excellent (highlight was Nackchivan, the trek in the Caucus mountains was also good) but there were a few issues on the trip: 1, I wasn't met at the airport on arrival, had to contact he local company to send someone around which took a long time, 2, On the first part (group tour), emphasis was getting us to lunch instead of showing us the sites in Naftalan and Gobustan and 3, given that the trek was expensive, I wasn't provided with an English speaking guide, I had 2 guides in Nackchivan who were both excellent.

Rating for tour operator:

My score would have been 'excellent' were it not for the issues mentioned above. The administrative side (booking trip, making arrangments and setting up bespoke aspects) was excellent.

We are sorry for the issues that you have raised and these have been brought to the attention of our local partner.

An Interesting Journey Through a Little Known Archipelago

My wife and I had a wonderful tour of the beautiful Comoros Islands with Undiscovered Destinations. This 11 day tour took us to all three of the Comoros islands. We had a different guide on each island and all of them were friendly, cheerful, and knowledgeable. The local people were reserved, but polite. Comoros seemed very safe. There is almost no crime. We never felt uncomfortable. On the other hand we were disappointed to see so much trash along the roadsides, from plastic bottles to abandoned cars, especially on the large island. The beaches on each of the islands were spectacularly beautiful and empty of people. The water is warm and clear. The islands are also famous for the many spices they grow. The Comoros are virtually undiscovered by the tourism business. The country is rated the third least visited in the world. That should change as foreign visitors return home with stories of these beautiful islands. The main island, Grand Comore, is the largest and has the most people. It also has one of the most active volcanos in the world. We enjoyed the two smaller islands more, because they have done a better job of preserving their natural environment. They have more stunning scenery. Of the smaller islands, Anjouan has the most historic sites. The people in Anjouan seem more proud of themselves and more friendly. Moheli was our favorite island. It is the smallest and least populated. This is the island you would visit if you want to forget about the developed world and enjoy peace, quiet, and nature. We spent three days at Laka Lodge, an intimate resort favored by divers and snorkelers. We took the opportunity to snorkel in one of the most pristine coral reefs in the world. This was the only place we saw other tourists during our Comoros tour. On Moheli we snorkeled with sea turtles and enormous manta rays who swam right up to us, probably from curiosity. We also enjoyed the lemurs who came to lodge every evening hoping for food. This is a great destination for nature lovers.

Albania: a Journey of Discovery

We went with a private guide/driver who was a fount of knowledge about his country. We loved the beautiful scenery. Albania has everything: mountains, lakes, and stunning beaches. Prices for accommodation and food are reasonable, and best of all it is not crowded - yet!

Private tour across the Andes from Bolivia through Chile to Argentina

This adventure was always going to be very full-on, which is how we like our trips. I didn't count on getting bronchitis and ending up in hospital in Chile, however. I was extremely impressed how Undiscovered Destinations and their local team handled the situation (me being hospitalised in Chile), taking the stress out of the occasion and smoothing the way, rearranging the itinerary and booking new hotels, translating for me in my interactions with medical staff, and making sure I always had transport on hand, medicines and anything else I might need. Nothing was too much trouble, and they kept in touch with not just each other and me, but also the insurance company. I can't recommend them enough!

Thank you for your positive feedback. We were sorry that you became unwell during the trip, but pleased to know that our local team handled the situation well and it was possible to rearrange the itinerary.

We are very grateful for your support as we know that you have done many trips with us. And we look forward to arranging more exciting trips in the future.

Thank you from everyone at Undiscovered Destinations.

Interesting trip to less well know parts of Europe

Undiscovered Destinations: Hidden Europe tour. We toured the main tourist sites of Albania with a short trip into Kosovo and North Macedonia. The scenery in the mountains was superb, especially crossing Koman Lake and in Valbona. We saw some interesting monasteries, Roman ruins and lots of quaint towns.

Another fantastic trip

Great trip to see the sights of Jordan. Although a group tour we ended up being the only travellers so it was a very personal experience. The guide and driver were extremely helpful and accommodating and we were able to make a couple of tweaks to the itinerary to suit our needs and interests.

Visiting the spectacular, but little known archaeological sites of nothern Peru and seeing the stunning scenery of the Cordillera Blanca.

I travelled as a solo traveller with a driver and guide. The trip visited a number of ancient and very impressive pre-Incan archaeological sites and the museums housing the remarkable artefacts found there. We also visited some of the old cities of nothern Peru, such as Cajamarca. One of the high points came near the end, when we spent a day in the peerless mountain scenery of the Cordillera Blanca. It was a very varied and exciting trip.

Undiscovered Destinations does tours that reflect its name. I have travelled with them many times, precisely because their tours are very well conceived to show guests remarkable places that are little known.
