A 6-day pilgrimage to Lourdes, France with emphasis on spiritual worship but yet having opportunity for social activities with fellow pilgrims. Excursions were also available, subject to weather.

Our group of pilgrims was well-looked after by Tangney Tours who ensured a smooth experience from booking through to return to the UK. A good well-balanced itinerary was provided including excellent places of worship for daily Mass. The hotel selected was simply perfect for our group and food was very good. The only slight downside was the cancellation of the main excursion due to local weather conditions but a simple alternative was made available. The tour guides were first-class.

Lovely central hotel just a couple of minutes from the sanctuary. Well organised lots of content. Really enjoyed my time in Lourdes.

Very well organised trip from start to finish. Linda our rep was very knowledgeable and super friendly and approachable. Kept everything running smoothly checking that there was no problems etc

Well organised, hotels were great, food great, wine even better. Not sure about the loose head prop rugby player in Auch. His wines weren’t the best but the Armagnac was worth buying. Great fun, nice friends. What more can we say?

Organised and well run

We booked the same hotel as previously, simply because we'd had a good experience there. On this occasion due to pilgrimage commitments we were unable to check in until late in the afternoon and at reception we were allocated, quite possibly the worst hotel room that we've ever stayed in. Exhausted after a long journey and about to work a shift in the Acceuil we asked to be moved. The receptionist noted our comments about the room (it was a single with a double bed shoehorned in) and said that he would enquire as to the possibility. When we arrived back at the hotel, there was no one in reception and realistically we didn't expect to be moved at gone 23:00hrs. The next morning we enquired as to the outcome of our request to be moved, to be told that our tour operator had been allocated a block of rooms, ours being one of them, that the Hotel was busy and a move was not possible! We raised the issue with Linda the Tangney rep, who couldn't have been more helpful. She said that she'd raise our complaint again with management in reception but couldn't guarantee that they'd respond positively. Actually the management accepted our complaint about the room and after two nights they offered us a room which was perfectly acceptable. Staying in Lourdes is never cheap and we felt that having paid top dollar to stay in a decent hotel, that because of a delayed check-in we'd been given a room from what was left rather than one of the standard we'd enjoyed previously.

Having been given such a poor room does not dispose us terribly kindly towards our tour operator. But Linda, the rep' deserves the highest praise for sorting out the problem.

Pilgrimage to Lourdes

Supportive but Comunication not very good

More of a religious pilgrimage to the Shrine at Fatima, than a holiday, although we did have some free time for relaxation. It was my first visit to Fatima and indeed to Portugal and I would love to return to Portugal for a family holiday one day. The Hotel and the food were both very good. However, it was a pity that our group was split between two separate hotels.

Our pilgrimage was arranged via Tangney Tours Ltd, and I was satisfied with their service but I though it was unfortunate that they did not provide our small group (19 pilgrims) with a tour guide, which placed an added burden on our the priest who was leading our pilgrimage.

So beautiful to be with friends from across the Diocese together celebrating life and love and faith.

Our tour operator Nigel was amazing he took a patient to hospital and cared for her in the early hours. Very impressed by this level of care.

I went to Lourdes with some of my friends from Church, we enjoyed the experience, I went last year to Lourdes with a small group, this year I went back with a much larger group, I met up with some people l haven't seen for years we all enjoyed the experience.

The representative was very informative she was very helpful.
