Botswana, luxurious wilderness.

An excellent trip to the Linyanti and Okavango Delta regions of Botswana. A stunning wilderness area with excellent lodges and guiding to ensure you see whatever interests you the most, be it predators, birds, or just the beautiful pristine bush. All seamlessly joined together with light aircraft flights between locations. Our favourite lodge: Chitabe Lediba, they seemed to have thought of everything.

Botswana Safari

A mix of Lodges and Letaka Mobile Camping gave us a great opportunity to see the behaviour of birds, mammals, reptiles and insects at close quarters.

Safari Consultants concentrate carefully on establishing the style and content of trip that matches their client's interests and preferences. Their itineraries are thoroughly researched and robust. The progress of each tour is monitored on a regular basis. This was our 5th safari organised by Safari Consultants and we felt very confident that all would go smoothly under their care.

Wonderful

The two camps we stayed in, on advice from Safari Cons., were exactly what we had in mind. The beach hotel was also terrific but lacked a home reef resulting in very poor snorkelling.

KuChawe Inn on Zomba Plateau has marvelous views from the room balcony overlooking Mulanje and Blantyre in the distance. Very enjoyable local food. Huntingdon House on Satemwa Tea Estate is relaxing and pleasant place to stay, with an interesting walk around the estate and a tea tasting visit to the factory. And we ended at Ryalls in Blantyre where we used to live in the 1980s. We had a great dinner in '21 Grill'.

Michele Seamark of Safari Consultants has been extremely helpful throughout the whole process, and put together a perfect selection of places to stay in our limited time. In Malawi, Wilderness Safaris were also very helpful.

what an amazing time! This was our second visit to the Delta and we were blown away. The trip combined 3 camps - one classic (savuti), one premium (Vumbura Plains) and one 'on foot' camp (Footsteps across the Delta). And they were all amazing and unique. Savuti with its position right on the Delta, combined with great game viewing (leopard, lions, wild dogs, lots of elephantand hippos) and luxury accomodation. Vumbura Plaind was a stunning ...

Savuti with its position right on the Delta, combined with great game viewing (leopard, lions, wild dogs, lots of elephantand hippos) and luxury accomodation. Vumbura Plaind was a stunning camp (v big but you didnt notice as they split the camp in 2 to make it feel more intimate in each one)- the game viewing here was fantastic (giant herds of buffalo, Lots of lions with cubs, rare sighting of cheetah, elephants in camp, giraffe, Sable, wild cat and hyenas with cubs) and we even saw lions feeding on a recently killed buffalo. Foosteps - although very basic you felt as if you were at one with nature, and soon adapted and loved the simplicity of it. You dont see alot of animals whilst out walking as they run away, but you do get to understand the environment better and the smaller things like insects, birds, tracking, flora and fauna) and we got to see a rock python which you're unlikely to see if you're in a jeep.

Kitchen staff are great probably the best food we had in all the different camps we have stayed in East and South Africa. Victoria Falls Hotel is very luxurious but at the same time felt it was very touristic.

My wife and I visited two Wilderness Camps in Botswana. Tubu Tree was the first where we stayed three nights, and this was followed by three nights in Savuti Camp. We are regular safari travellers and have been to many camps and lodges over the years all over Africa. This holiday ranked along with the best. We new that going in November is very unpredictable for game for as soon as the rains arrive the game heads into the bush and can be very difficult to find. Also of course the trees and shrubs very quickly respond to the moisture and produce their leaves in the space of a few weeks. As we are interested in birds this is a great time to visit with local species in breeding plumage, and the arrival of Palearctic migrants from Europe. The guides had to work really hard to produce the game for us, but produce it they did. We saw all that we had hoped for and a lot more besides but don`t expect to see vast herds of anything at this time of the year. We had four sightings of leopard, numerous sightings of lion, dozens and dozens of elephant, buffalo, giraffe, and eight species of antelope. Honey badger fruit bats, and bush baby by night also. The highlight of the trip for me besides the slatey egrets, pygmy geese, and wattled cranes were the wild dogs. We have tried for several years to see them in various sites around Africa but with no luck. In Savuti we came across them on two consecutive days. On both occasions we spent considerable time watching them, and one day we even had coffee in the Landover with the dogs lying besides us. An unforgettable experience. On top of this is the sheer beauty of the place. However.....if you want to know what put the "icing on the cake for us" it was the management and their staff at both camps. The welcome was amazing, and they never stopped smiling. They entertained us with their singing and dancing, and the food was superb.......how can they do this in the middle of the bush? The facilities around the camp were good and the tents were very clean and comfortable. We were lucky in so much as we had very nice fellow guests to share the experience with us also. We left both camps with a tear in our eye feeling that we had made wonderful friends. We thoroughly recommend the Wilderness Camps that we visited, but if you go out of season be aware of the difficulties with the game. The guides are so tuned into nature, and with their bush craft they proved that they will find things for you. Our guides were amazing, but be understanding and realistic. Some days you have to be patient. We have pulled the African lions tail and in turn have been well and truly bitten. Been many times, but can`t wait to return.

I met Rob Slater at the Rutland Bird Fair this year whilst he was working on the Safari Consultants stand. I explained exactly what I wanted to see to him, and told him that unfortunately I had to give him short notice. The Fair was in August and we wanted to travel in November. The same evening I was contacted by Rob with some information and options giving me the best possibility to see what we wanted. It wasn`t easy as most places were fully booked, as you would expect. Over the next six days Rob communicated regularly with me in order to arrange our itinerary giving me several options on varying dates. His response was almost immediate, and you could feel his passion for the job. Of course I contacted several tour operators at the Bird Fair, but none of them came close to offering me the service that Rob did. Indeed some of them took over a week to come back to me. The holiday went like clockwork, and everything promised was delivered. We cannot fault the efficiency and organisation offered by Safari Consultants and highly recommend them. Many thanks...... you were very professional.

From the luxuriously tented and extremely sociable Tanda Tula in Timbavati to the more formal and stylish Lion Sands in Sabi and finishing at eco friendly yet opulent Kwandwe in the Eastern Cape. The Game viewing in each area was remarkable with some new sightings for me including meerkats and black rhino. I took more photos than ever before yet still had plenty of time to sit and appreciate the drama evolving before me.

I was encouraged to arrange my holiday with Safari Consultants by one of the Lodges I visit regularly and I am extremely glad that I did. Their knowledge of the areas I intended to visit was very comprehensive and I am happy to say that all suggestions or alterations to my own initial thoughts proved entirely appropriate for my needs. Each step in a fairly complicated itinerary was handled with diligent professionalism and friendliness. I will without doubt be using them again for my next trip to Africa.

Safari Consultants were very helpful in the planning of my trip. In the 14 days I had five different places to stay of 2 and 3 nights duration. Several internal flights. All the details for every part of my trip were carefully planned and put on paper so I knew exactly what to do next and advice was given on every aspect of this type of holiday.
