From swimming in sapphire blue translucent water to seeing awe inspiring ancient sites peopled and bustling as Peter talks of their history and reads from contemporary writers, are amazing experiences. All this in the company of like minded people who also enjoy the luxury of the superb Mediterranean food, wine and care on the gulet as it cruises past stunning scenery or anchors in a secluded cove overnight. This was another incredible, stimulating, relaxing, unforgettable experience. This was our fourth gulet tour with Peter Sommer Travels and we have already signed up for another.

Amazing attention to detail, but an inspiring and tremendously well informed tour leader who has the ability to make ancient sites come alive. A great person with whom to travel, fun, knowledgeable and responsive to any need.

Our cruise along the Lycian Shore was both enjoyable and informative. We visited many interesting sites along the way and also had time for relaxing on the boat. The accomodation was very comfortable and pleasant. We enjoyed swimming from the boat to cool off when we stopped.

Our guide, Peter Sommer, always full of energy and enthusiasm, led us along the paths of the Lycian Coast, betraying a love and deep knowledge of the ancient history of the region. He introduced us to stories of the Lycians, Greeks and Romans. He was assisted by Cem Yucesoy who ensured that the trip went smoothly. We had every confidence in the captain and the crew who attended to our every need. The Chef provided excellent food throughout the cruise.

Our holiday allowed us to pursue an interest in archaeology in the company of a first class guide while enjoying the comfort of a beautiful hand built traditional gulet. The accommodation and Turkish cuisine was first class and great care was taken to match excellent local wines. Every effort was made to ensure the comfort of guests by a thoroughly professional crew and an outstanding local guide who seemed able to solve any problem with efficiency and good humour.

Peter Sommers Tours is a highly regarded company specialising in the archaeology of the Mediterranean and features fine food and quality accommodation. We were fortunate to have Peter Sommers himself as our expert guide and he spared no effort in sharing his considerable knowledge to bring to life the history of the many and varied peoples who have occupied the Lycian coast over many hundreds of years.

The Gulet was lovely cabin great food amazing. Swimming in lovely bays in warm water was something we all looked forward to, visiting ancient sites with a very knowledgeable Archiologist was also a great experience. The staff on the Gulet were also great very efficient and attentive.

Gulet Archeological tour of southern Turkey . Gulet was comfortable and clean and run by a great crew. Food -turkish cuisine, delicious and plentiful. Archeologist made ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine life come alive. The tour company Peter Sommers Travel were extremely accomodating of passengers like myself, who weren't that well organised. The whole team could not have been more helpful

Spent one week on a small (gulet) cruise of the Amalfi Coast with Peter Sommer Travels. We visited Capri, Amalfi, and Positano, among other other magnificent locations with time to visit archeological sites and to swim. Our guides were trained not only in archeology but also art history and classical literature, enriching greatly what we saw. And, did I mention the great food? All in all, a trip that made memories for a lifetime.

Peter Sommer Travels works very hard to build a well organized trip that is intellectually stimulating and thoroughly enjoyable. this was our fourth Peter Sommer holiday, and the third with our excellent archaeological guide Heinrich Hall. The Peloponnese is something of an undiscovered treasure house in a country often overrun with too many visitors. Not so in this region, where there is so much to see both historically and scenically. In early summer the place is particularly beautiful and the temperature perfect for sightseeing. The hotels were all carefully chosen, as were the restaurants, and we felt we had a good impression of local life everywhere we went. Highly recommended

We took the "Family Tour" around the Dodecanese islands. Our guides were instrumental in making the tour successful as we found the itinerary, the choice of tavernas, the choice of coves to swim in etc... as well as their expertise to be top notch.

We were lucky to find them online and we appreciate the special product they offer in today's world of mass tourism.

We cruised on a Turkish gulet on a Peter Sommers tour from Dubrovnik to Split. The boat is beautiful, the crew made sure our every need was attended to and our beautiful and knowledgeable guide provided one of the best experiences we have had so far in our travel history. The captain was always mindful of providing a calm and private cruise experience. Our chef amazed us with his delicious meals coming from such a small galley, and the wines provided onboard were all delicious.

Peter Sommer and his office were checking in with our guide on a daily basis and sometime 3-4 times a day. We were able to take several rounds of photographs that were uploaded right to his office so we felt there was always a team looking out to make sure our experience was spectacular, and it was.
