The Peter Sommer Cruising the Amalfi Coast gulet tour was coordinated exceptionally in every detail and led by highly qualified and knowledgeable guides. The tour provided a rich mix of visits to Amalfi Coast cities and sights along with opportunities to leisurely enjoy the Coast's vistas while cruising on our gulet. The gulet staff catered to our every whim, and ensured there were ample opportunities to swim while anchored off the coast. Comfort. Great food and drink. Fun and engaging conversations with fellow gulet cruisers. Highly, highly recommended!

Peter Sommer Travels tours are exceptionally well organized with individual attention to every guest, and trip detail. This is my fourth Sommer Travels tour and all have been most enjoyable, intellectually stimulating, and organized around areas and sites of tremendous interest. Sommer Travels offers an ever broadening mix of cultural tours, gulet cruises and private trips—with each trip led by expert guides, archeologists and historians well steeped in the travel area and sights. Every guest is treated as a long-time friend in a first class manner!

Avoiding high winds from unexpected storms, we sailed to nine different Greek islands, learned about their historical and archaeological importance, sampled the best of their cuisine, and enjoyed visiting small towns, museums and castles.

The trip was well organized and flexible enough to keep us safe in sheltered harbors when high winds were forecast. The pre-trip advice and recommendations were useful. The buses and shuttles we used were punctual and comfortable. The guides were very knowledgeable, and worked hard to keep us happy and well-fed.

Our two week gulet cruise round the Dodecanese Islands with Peter Sommer Travel was a wonderful experience. Our boat was comfortable and well appointed, our guides were well informed and professional, the meals -- both on land an on the boat -- were excellent, the other guests were interesting and convivial. We visited 9 islands -- each unique and interestingly different. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone interested in a relaxing and educational introduction to the Dodecanese.

Peter Sommer Travels provided excellent service, with great attention to detail and quick response to questions. The two guides on our trip, who handled all the logistics, including changes to the schedule caused by bad weather, were excellent -- well informed, professional, hard-working.

The experience was wonderful. Due to the unexpected weather, the tour guide ( Filip) did a great job in revising the itinerary to everyone's satisfaction. Filip (tour guide) was an exceptional tour guide, his presentation and depth of knowledge of the places we visited made for a very enlightening and stimulating experience. The only issue we had was with the rude tourists we encountered in Dubrovnik, Split and later in Prague.

The tour was well organized and was able to adapt to the unforeseen change in the weather.

This is my second holiday with the Peter Sommer organisation. To me it provided the ideal mix of learning something new, great fun and 2 weeks on a wonderful boat with a wonderful group of people and two expert guides who not only knew their "stuff" but gave us a series of unique and enriching experiences with food and wine and wonderful insights into the culture and history of the islands and their inhabitants. Their enthusiasm never flagged. I am now looking forward to my next holiday, hopefully with Heinrich and Maria who I now consider to be my friends.

The oraganisation was wonderful and never missed a step. Excellent information was provided and our travel arrangements were impeccable.

The trip, Cruising the Dodecanese, was great--educational, fun, interesting people and great food. There was plenty of time to relax, learn about Greek archeological sites and enjoy sampling Greek foods at the many local restaurants throughout the islands . Most of all, our guides (Maria and Heinrich) were knowledgeable, fun to be be with and helpful at every turn, as were the captain of the gullet and crew. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

Cruising the Dodecanese was an extraordinary adventure. Every day we visited astounding archeological sites, swam in the warm Aegean Sea, ate fantastic food on the boat and in local restaurants, visited towns small and large as well as fabulous local museums. Our expert guides, Heinrich and Maria, made greece's pre-history and history come alive, engaged us with their their vast knowledge, enchanted us with the telling of mythological tales, and kept us laughing the night away with anecdotes, puns and a fantactistic supply of delicious local wines.

This is our third gullet trip with Peter Sommers and they just keep getting better and better. We brought the new catalog home with us and are already fantasizing about our next trip.

It delivered all that the operator had promised: a beautiful boat taking us quietly across turquoise sea with beautiful island views (and a water spout and some dolphins), rural walks through rugged landscapes, detailed exploration of historic and pre-historic sites with an expert guide, good food, comfort, swimming. And we had quite a few laughs.

Highly attentive, with both a vision of what the holiday should comprise and meticulous care over details.

We went on Peter Sommer's Walking and Cruising Holiday in Southern Dalmatia. The gulet that we stayed on for seven nights was well-appointed and comfortable, with extra touches such as hair dryers in the private bathrooms and an espresso machine available for use 24/7. Our guide, Dr. Helena Tomas, was very warm and knowledgable. She led us on hikes where we enjoyed both beautiful scenery and interesting cultural and archaelogical sites. The gulet's crew was also very friendly and capable. Overall, this was a lovely experience.

Peter Sommer stayed in touch with the our guide, Helena, throughout the tour, to make sure that all was going well. The owner of the gulet also visited to make sure that all was up to snuff. Overall, this was a very well organized and managed tour.
