My wife and I were due for a great vacation and after much consideration decided on a September gulet cruise along the Amalfi Coast in 2017 with Peter Sommer Travels. It was an inspired decision as it was the best vacation ever! The Deriya Deniz is a lovely gulet and our crew did everything possible to make the trip a relaxing, unique time at sea. We will never forget our captain who was all things Italiano as well as experienced and personable. Our chef created one wonderful meal after another. Our guides, Sophie and Francesca, made our experience educational, authentic, and always enjoyable even when weather didn't cooperate. Peter Sommer was right about this being the ideal way to experience the Amalfi Coast and the islands of Ischia and Capri. Ours was an unforgettable vacation and opportunity to make new friends from the US and Europe. The memories are vivid and unique. We will definitely travel with Peter Sommer Travels again, and look forward to more experiences like this one. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make our Italy vacation absolutely perfect.

A perfect combination of excellent descriptions of the history of the locations we visited, really interesting local restaurants, good food on board the gullet and lovely scenery. The perfect weather and interesting sailing added greatly to the experience as did the congenial company.

Travelling on a lovely wooden boat, the Aegean Clipper, we visited about 10 Greek islands, from Kos to Santorini. Our knowledgeable guides took us to museums, archaeological sites, volcanoes - everything there was to see. Meals on board were fresh & varied, and meals ashore were amazing - all kinds of local island specialities to taste & surprise.

The tour of Crete was fabulous! The tour and country exceeded my expectations. The accommodations were great......from a modern hotel with all the amenities to small villages with very comfortable, interesting apartments. The food was incredible.......the local produce, cheeses and meats and seafood were well prepared and copious. Our fellow tour-mates were great travel companions: we represented the USA, UK and Canada. Crete was wonderful with widely differing terrain and fascinating archeology.

Our tour guides were outstanding. Maria and Heinrich were well-matched and complimented one another well. I really enjoyed the mythology presented by Maria. The tour was well planned with every detail addressed.

Exploring Sicily with Peter Sommers was an enjoyable romp around the island revealing the landscape, its peoples and its truly remarkable history. Our wonderful tour guides with their great knowledge of the area, its politics, history and archeology, their organizational skills and their sense of humour enabled all of us to understand and appreciate the wonder of Sicily. The remarkable hotels that we stayed at from agro tourism locations on olive farms and vineyards to beautifully renovated hotels in Palermo and Ortigia made the holiday very special and as usual with all Peter Sommers tours, we tasted the best of wines and foods that Sicily had to offer. The chocolate liqueur at Modica was a stand out memory.

this is the third tour by Peter Sommers that I have taken and all have been immensely enjoyable, educational, well prepared and organized with knowledgeable tour guides who go the extra mile to make sure that you have everything you need. I would have no hesitation in taking another tour with them and look forward to doing so next year.
