Two friends joined me on this Peter Sommers Cruise this last September 2021. . After postponing this cruise due to Covid we decided to just go for it. One of my friends summed it up. “ It was a trip of a life time for her. Fabulous boat, crew, guides and other passengers. We all had a great time. Beautiful clear warm water. Great swimming and kayaking just about every day Historic sites that were almost for our eyes only. Turkey is a fabulous country many unexpected surprises for all of us. If this sounds good don’t wait go for it Exceeded my expectations for sure…Bonnie Levy

Another wonderful Peter Sommer Adventure, my fourth. Filip, our professor and guide is an encyclopedia of knowledge and loves sharing the information. Traveling by gulet is a wonderful way to visit different towns in Croatia. The Crew, Mareno, Joseph and our chef made it an exceptional tour.

Peter Sommer Travels has been a five star experience for me. The small groups, the excellence of of the professional guides, the accommodations on land and sea and the easy accessibility in arranging a tour have all been positive experiences with Peter Sommer.

Fantastic experience with two warm and extremely knowledgeable guides. Many highlights, great camaraderie amongst group members, and many special experiences.

Peter Sommer handled all the details for me seamlessly, after I signed up to come on the tour last minute after my mother was not able to attend. All booking details, transfers, etc. were effortlessly handled and all I had to do was show up. The quality of the entire staff was very high.

It was an very memorable experience and Peters lead Mislof of excellent. Highly recommend the experience they offered.

mislof was a wonderful and knowledgeable your man who connected with all of us daily. We had some weather that changed our plans and Mislof made it seem less and took care of everything.

For my wife and myself, this was the second of two week-long back-to-back cruises along the Dalmatian coast with Peter Sommer Travel, this one from Split to Dubrovnik. The same high levels of educational richness and quality of on-board experience that we enjoyed on our first week continued right through the second week. Happily, we had the same wonderful cook who continued to amaze us with excellent meals, the same captain who kept us safely afloat and on-time, and the wonderful first mate, Marino, who was not only good natured and thoroughly competent but could also made an amazing aperol spritz. Our guide for this leg of our trip was Mislav, a native Croatian with advanced degrees in archaeology. He was absolutely wonderful--energetic, extremely knowledgeable, funny. Like our guide for the previous week, Mislav communicated his own intellectual curiosity and his thorough knowledge of Croatian history without ever seeming pedantic. I failed to stump him with any question; he knew everything I wanted to learn more about. The trip was very rich in history, both ancient and modern, which was exactly what I wanted. It was also an exciting way to see the coast, a large number of islands and the natural beauty of the Dalmatian area. Swimming around the boat was fun, although the water was a little cooler than expected. Our cabin was beautiful and efficiently designed so that even though it was compact, we had everything we needed for a comfortable trip. This was a great, exciting adventure and I would repeat it in a heartbeat.

Everything about this trip was well organized and professionally run. It had a nice balance of visiting archaeological sites with a fun and exciting way to see the Dalmatian coast. Each day had a different mix of visiting sites, museums or cities with swimming from the boat, great food and time to relax and read or socialize. I felt that Peter Sommer had given a lot of thought to making the trip both educational and memorably fun.

We cruised along the coast of Croatia, visiting interesting archaeological sites and touring some of the lovely cities along the way. The gulet was comfortable, and the crew was friendly and helpful. The guide was very knowledgeable. All the meals were unbelievably good, and swimming by the boat in the afternoons was delightul.

This was our third trip with Peter Sommer Travels. Everything was first rate as usual!

We traveled by gulet along the Dalmatian coast, anchoring near important archaeological sites, cities with ancient origins and a National Park along the way. My wife and I booked two back-to-back cruises with Peter Sommer Travel, this being the first one from Sibenick to Zadar (and back to Trogir, near Split). It was wonderful! Our guide, Filip, was extremely knowledgeable about all historical eras we encountered. For me, the Greek, pre-Roman (Libornian and Dalmatian), and Roman sites were the most exciting, and Filip was great at answering every single question I came up with, no matter how screwy. Being a native Croatian also meant that he could explain contemporary issues of culture and recent history in ways a non-native probably could not manage. Filip was energetic, funny, very sociable, attentive--a tremendous asset to both the social and the educational aspects of the trip. Local guides in several of the cities and archaeological sites we visited were also excellent. Living on a boat the size of our gulet was part of the adventure. Living quarters were "efficient," as they must be on a boat, but we had everything we needed and were extremely comfortable. Meals on board were spectacular. Given the small size of the galley, the cook worked small miracles for every meal. The 3-man crew was great, especially Marino, the second in command. He was an important part of the social glue that made the trip such a wonderful experience with his great sense of humor, overall competence, attentive helpfulness and great skill at catching squid. I wanted this trip to be a solid educational experience most of all, and it met all my expectations. And, of course, the Dalmatian coast is gorgeous!

This was an extremely well organized and well run trip. I was reassured by the thorough attention to COVID-related issues as well as to the historical/archaeological content of the cruise. The on-board staff (our guide and the ship's crew) all were very professional and made great efforts to make sure the trip was both educationally rich and great fun for all the guests.

You will not find a better tour operator anywhere than Peter Sommer Travels. This was our second tour (the first was in Crete), and as usual, everything was simply excellent.

The cruise through the northern Croatian waters was spectacular. The food wonderful. The guides were very informative. And the Adriatic was refreshing!

Everything was just taken care of for us.

One of my favorite trips! Accommodations were comfortable, food excellent, pace of trip perfect. Our guide was knowledgeable, energetic, and fun to be with, as were my fellow companions in travel. I can honestly report, there was nothing I did not like.

Peter was helpful, kept in contact during the very confusing, disruptive COVID events. I always felt he was on top of the situation,, and maintaining health and safety standards. This was our second Peter Sommers trip, and I cannot say enough positive about him.
