This was an eight day walking tour of the 'pueblos blancos' of the Grazelema area of Andalucia. The holiday was impeccably planned by On Foot. The hotels were all a delight to stay in, all small locally run establishments with friendly and helpful staff. Transfers of luggage (and on two days, of us) were pre arranged and this worked well. The walks were all great. They were all well known to the local contact who has published books on walking in this area, and he gave detailed and helpful descriptions of the routes with an accompaying map. We were also sent a gpx file so that all the routes could be viewed on our mobile phones as we proceeded, and position checked with GPS. We hardly had to use the phones but it was reassuring to have this. The walks were mostly moderate, at most 18 km with several hundred metres of ascent, we found the estimated times were pretty accurate which helped us plan our days. The walks themselves were varied, interesting and through quiet and beautiful landscapes (on our two longest days we met nobody at all en route). Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys walking.

On Foot have offered an excellent service throughout. Our first holiday planned with them was in March 2020 and had to be cancelled due to the Covid outbreak in Spain. They were very supportive and offered a refund or rebooking later. This was really appreciated, it must have been a very worrying and stressful time for all in the business but this was never evident in our conversations with them. Whatever was going on, their public face was calm reassuring and helpful. Our holiday was eventually in April 2022. Throughout On Foot were very good. Their website is eay to use with clear information. They responded very quickly to contacts - mostly by email, but they were also very helpful over the phone too. The itinerary and costs were very clear. The team were able to make specific suggestions (eg about room types at specific hotels, places to eat etc) and had good first hand knowledge of the area, specific travel issues (eg the online Covid documentation for Spain etc). The holiday itself was very good, the route and stays had been carefully selected. We were travelling to Granada independently after our On Foot holiday ended and the team kindly send us information on travel arrangements to get there from Ronda. Overall, the On Foot team are highly recommended.

The organisation of the holiday was exceptional. The accommodation, and taxi service worked very well. The routes were well marked on Andros and the maps and walk descriptions were good. There were a few errors in one of the printed booklets which caused us some confusion but we were able to work out that explanations for different walks had got mixed up and other members of my party have highlighted these to the company and to the local rep.

Very efficient and friendly. Gave speedy responses to queries and communicated well.

We had a wonderful 5 day trip walking from town to town on the Amalfi coast. Our accommodations were fantastic, better than we ever could have put together ourselves. The cost was very affordable for the value of the accommodations and food provided.

From first contact when we were trying to choose a trip to all the steps between On Foot is so accommodating and helpful. They were always up to date and knowledgeable about the changing Covid guidelines,

Fantastic. Besides the above, the advice they gave us concerning travelling in light of the pandemic was very sensible. They were friendly, approachable and everything ran like clockwork.

We walked the eastern part of the Lycia way self-guided, starting in the mountains and staying in a variety of guesthouses overnight. The walking was excellent, arduous and tough terrain but beautiful scenery. Fantastic variety of overnight stays, all welcoming with good food. Excellent local contact to give day-to-day support.

Really good. Helpful before we booked, they clearly knew the route and could give good advice on what route would suit us best. The pre-holiday information was good, route notes and GPS route guidance were excellent. On our return, they genuinely wanted and responded to feedback.

My holiday was a five night, four day unguided walking tour in Tuscany. Each day involved walking 14 to 18 km, on a prescribed route, mainly or rural gravel tracks and paths, with elevation gains of 600 to 800 m. The hotels were organized by the tour operator and my suitcase transferred each day. The countryside was a mix of lush green fields and both deciduous and evergreen forest. It was very beautiful, although a bit early in the year for leaves on the deciduous trees.

Very well organised with a comprehensive tour package sent in advance, containing all contact details, Covid protocols, route maps and guidance notes. I was in daily contact with my local guide confirming departure and successful arrival.

Feels like we’re ‘phoning friends when we book a walk. Nothing’s too much trouble

We did the 6 night route and enjoyed it very much. The packs sent in advance by On Foot were excellent and the day to day Route notes extremely accurate so made it so easy. We stayed in beautiful accommodation, one place better than the next, all family run. We received a warm welcome everywhere and were well looked after. Those that provided dinner did not disappoint and generally there was a family atmosphere with other guests. As it was late February, it was cold at night so most places had a fire in the communal areas. Some of the hospitality was outstanding and it is difficult to mention all but our favourite was Es Petit Hotel in Valldemossa. We feel that the On Foot team have done an excellent job in putting this route together. A special mention for Jesca, the local contact who checked in on us after our first day to make sure all was ok and subsequently during the trip. Well done all round.

Excellent communication at all points from booking to departure with updated information prior to leaving. We found they responded rapidly to any queries and were very helpful.

We walked from Zahara de La Sierra to Ronda. We took five days and then did an extra two days of sightseeing and walking in Ronda. We started January 25 and had consistently sunny weather with highs of about 16 degrees. It felt like 22 at midday. The mountains and hills which we walked through were spectacular. We saw ibex, lots of birds, a fox and mini farm animals. It was a mixture of hiking on trails and walking on small roads and dirt tracks The accommodations were all charming and it was heroic of On Foot Holidays to find us lodging in the middle of winter.

It is a company based in the UK which we have used in the past for walking in England. They are extremely responsive and well organized and have terrific local contacts. They also have identified excellent lodgings on both our walks. The route notes are excellent, better than other walking companies we used before we discovered On Foot. This is a fabulous way to experience “slow travel”.

I had a wonderful holiday walking in the upper Dordogne region of France. Using a variety of walking paths and quiet country lanes, I visited many small, yet charming, villages in the region as well as the world-class town of Rocamadour. I used several rest days along the route to just "be a local" and was pleasantly surprised by the excellence of the cuisine at even the smallest of hotels along the way. Walking in late September, I enjoyed cooler weather with only one rainy day.

On Foot Holidays was excellent throughout. They were quite helpful in arranging extra days along the route, as well as providing top-quality route maps and notes. Their local contact provided last-minute updates to a changed part of the route in addition to the already informative notes. She also made contact during an especially challenging weather day to check whether I needed assistance. All accommodations along the way were friendly and quite comfortable. I always felt the personal touch in all my communications with On Foot.
