This hike is a good choice if you want to explore a part of Europe in March/April and like to have a pleasant temperature to do it in. I was surprised that the area had so much to offer and the route went through some very interesting scenery. As usual the chosen accommodation and people looking after us were fantastic. As a bonus the area has great cuisine and some interesting wines.

I have used On Foot Holidays at least 5 times and have been always impressed by their personal service and professionalism. I like that they try to find hikes in less busy but still interesting areas and they spend a lot of effort finding interesting family run accommodation which means that I always look forward to seeing where I will end up that evening. Compared to other companies i have experienced they have a very good route notes, maps and Gpx files to aid with the fun part of navigating.

We are repeat clients of On Foot as we enjoy their walks which are well curated and in interesting natural areas and quaint towns. The two of us walked over 5 days taking in the sights and local rural culture and stayed 6 nights in local hotels. The trip was self-guided and the route is provided to us by map and instructions plus a GPS track map that can be used offline. A local contact also helped us by phone with some of the logistics. We travelled from Australia for our holiday and the walk occupied one week in a trip of 4 weeks.

On Foot are based in the UK. The planning included prebooking hotels and bag transport between hotels. Once the dates are locked in they keep in touch and respond to our email enquiries overnight. About a month out we receive a walkers' pack which has the track notes, emergency details and details of how to travel to and from the start and finish by public transport. There are also notes on local attractions and restaurant recommendations . We have not met any On Foot staff but it all works faultlessly. This was our 4th trip with them over about 12 years. We try to do an On Foot walk every time we get to Europe. There are lots of options.

Never have we been on a hike that so resembled a quest with puzzles to solve and messages in stones left for us. This was a challenge for us but a wonderful one. It combined great beauty and fascinating culture

We were spending six weeks in the Canaries, but scheduled this walk on La Gomera before we had other plans in the Canary Islands. It was spectacular all the way around and we highly recommend it. We took some shortening options so it’s totally doable. If you’re in good shape. We are 72 and 73.

On Foot Holidays was extremely helpful in organizing this walk. They were also flexible as we wanted some additional days. To hike locally and recover a bit in between long days.

There were six of us. my husband (69). myself (63), my 32 year old six months pregnant daughter and her husband and my 31 year old son and his girlfriend. We have had many adventures as a family together but this was definitely in the top three of all time. Time before and after the trip in Malaga proved to be a good place to rest up and recover from! Each route was gorgeous and extremely well planned and the food, lodging and hosts, narratives, directions, recommendations and the whole team from On Foot Holidays and their local contact Guy exceeded all of our expectations. I cannot wait to find the right time and place to plan our next trip with them.

A complete and authentic Amalfi experience with the ability to choose one’s own daily itinerary with the background guidance of the On foot holiday team. To embrace both the coastal “glamour “ with the hidden interior of lemon groves, farms , villages, animals and spectacular scenery was a very unique experience. Our hotels, their staff , the food and wine were wonderful.

My trip was fantastic. The route was wonderful and the navigation notes were clear and easy to follow. I had one issue with a tied up gate, but the local guide was on the end of the phone to talk me through it. It was helpful to have the GPS file to check I was on the right track. All of the accommodation was clean, comfortable and welcoming with good food. The walkers pack was comprehensive and ensured I had all the information and equipment I needed. Also, the weather was superb. All in all, the trip was everything I was hoping for and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was my first trip with On Foot Holidays, but I look forward to doing more trips in the future.

On Foot Holidays

We loved the towns, scenery and the food in Mallorca. On our one day in Palma, at the suggestion of the hotel staff, we attended the regional food fair that was going on at a nearby park. What a treat. We had a chance to sample a number of delicious local specialties. My favourite was the 'black paella'. This was a once a year event that was held over several days. When the storm blew in and weren't permitted to walk due to safety concerns, we suited up and explored the towns. In Soller, Jardins d'Alfàbia was closed to the power outage, but we did get to visit the Botanitcal garden which was lovely, well worth the visit. So despite not being able to actually do the trekking due to the Juliette storm, we had a good holiday. So a rating of good rather than excellent due to the weather.

Our self guided trekking tour was very well organized with great documentation and support. We particularly enjoyed the detailed background information on Mallorca. All the hotels used by the tour operator were unique and well run. Any queries by email were promptly responded to. Special requests attended to. The nicest tour group I have ever booked a trip with. So despite the named storm disrupting our holiday, we would love to go back, and make a 2nd attempt at the OnFoot trekking holiday in Mallorca.

What an incredible journey! It was really something to see the White Mountains of Ronda and learn the history of all these cliffside villages as we went along. Being able to go in January, which is when I had vacation, was really special and we did not share the paths with many other hikers. We were treated beautifully at all the hotels and lodges despite the off season timing. The wildness of the paths (sometimes marked only by cairns) added to the adventure and the distances were manageable for this slow walker. What a spectacular area of Spain! And I am so grateful to all the staff of On Foot Holidays, as they quite graciously put together this complicated trip at the last minute for us. It was an unforgettable trip for my daughter and me, and knowing that our beloved tour company will handle all the important details makes it a real vacation for us. Thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart.

They dream up these incredible off-the-beaten-track trips and then they walk them to make sure all of it is doable and perfect. Having a local contact who lives in Andalucia and knows all the ins and outs (and who was very responsive by text) really gives you so much more security. There is nothing On Foot doesn't think of, and it is a pleasure to plan and correspond with them, always.
