This was our first official walking holiday and we totally loved it. Every detail was taken care of or flagged to us by on foot holidays and this made it incredibly easy to just enjoy the exercise, fresh air, beautiful scenery and escape from reality.

From the moment I first contacted them on foot holidays could not have been more responsive. I changed our chosen route three times before booking and their patience was endless. The pre holiday pack contained literally everything we could possibly need and the entire experience was seamless.

We loved the mix of beautiful scenery, small fishing villages, and beautiful beaches. There was also an interesting mix olodging, ranging from a hostel to five star experience in a hotel. The changing landscape each day was incredible! The tour includes some extra "shortcuts", which allow people who might not be up to the rigors of some aspects of the hike (seniors, those a bit less fit) to actually go on the hike and have the experience as well. This is perhaps one of the most beautiful hikes we've ever been on!

On Foot Holidays has been wonderfully reliable, responsible, and committed to providing best of class service and attention to detail on every hike that we have taken with them. We have been on 7 trips with On Foot, to diverse locations and have enjoyed every one.

4 nights staying in the same hotel on the Greek island of Naxos and 3 nights in the same pension on the nearby unspoilt island of Amorgos enabled us to choose on a daily basis which of the many walks ranging between 8km and 15km we felt like doing. All 5 walks were well signposted, though mainly following old mule tracks they were quite rocky underfoot. On most walks we met no-one else apart from the occasional shepherd and flocks of goats. On Naxos we particularly enjoyed the walk on the sparsely populated east of the island to the Lionas beach where we finished with a swim in the (cold) sea and a meal at the welcoming Delfinaki family restaurant. On Amorgos the walk along the spine of the island taking in the Chozoviatsa Monastery clinging to the side of the cliff was the highlight.

We spoke to On Foot at the Destinations Show in London 2023 and the member of staff on duty enthusiastically highlighted this trip to us as it met our desire for minimising the number of overnight stays in different hotels/guest houses. The background information provided about the holiday was very useful, walking notes. maps and GPS files accurate, and the logistics faultless. The other reps we dealt with during the booking process and leading up to the holiday were very knowledgeable and responsive to phone calls and emails.

We walked from Amalfi to Sorrento with the support of maps, luggage transport and great directions from On Foot. This is our third trip booked with this company and we have NEVER been disappointed. The Amalfi Coast was stunning. We stayed in wonderful small hotels and even extended our trip and hiking to Capri with On Foot’s help.

Just fantastic in every way. They really match our style of travel and are so easy and flexible to work with. On Foot has helped us on all our trips personalize each one to our interests and needs.

An enjoyable well organised coastal walk. Beautiful scenery fabulous beaches, dunes & forests. We love birdwatching which added to our overall experience especially at this time of year. Great to have the options to shorten the walks which we took most days. Accommodations were excellent, & the recommendations for eating out were very helpful. Aznar was a brilliant help, he organised taxis & dinner reservations. It was nice to know he was there if we needed help with anything.

This is our 4th walk with Onfoot holidays. They have always been so profesional & given us all the necessary information we required. Their tours are definitely good value from start to finish, & so well organised.

The walk set a course across the southern Yorkshire Dales starting in the genteel Vale of York at Ripon and progressing to more remote and rugged upland terrain to one of the Three Peaks, Ingleborough. The course is unique to On Foot and takes full advantage of the unique cultural, historical, and landscape features along the way. The nights are spent in a variety of authentically local bed and breakfasts, pubs, and small hotels that were uniformly welcoming with good and clean physical facilities.

After having made over a dozen self-guided walking trips with five different companies in the past six years, On Foot has become my first choice. They have a true commitment to maximizing the walkers' experience with many custom details in the route planning, very generous preliminary information about the culture of the area and the mechanics of the walk itself, and, most importantly, providing committed local support personel. On this particular walk the local representative personally walked and sent me a GPS track for an extra day, and joined me for a half day walking, which was the high point of my trip. The front office has been very consistent in heading off logistical problems due to bank holidays and train strikes and were really helpful in extracting me from a fairly remote area when trains were cancelled at the last minute.

A 7 day route through the mountains

We had a 7 day hotel to hotel walking holiday in north Bohemia. It was special because of : the unusual scenery, the quality of the walks and notes, the hotel choice and advice on eating places. Quirky hotels, unusual food. Ruined castles, weird rock formations, well preserved baroque towns. Like a trip back in time.

Had several phone calls ahead of the trip to fix details etc. Good local representation. Good post holiday response to feedback

Equipped with maps, instructions and a GPS app, we ambled through the French countryside near and along the Dordogne, encountering vineyards, waterfalls, limestone cliffs, small towns, quiet churches, cows and sheep with the reward of a well-deserved rest following excellent meals at lovely hotels, each with its unique charm.

On-Foot prepares its clients well, with maps, directions and even a private tutorial on how to work the GPS app. The hotels chosen by On-Foot served fabulous dinners and breakfasts. More importantly, the operators were friendly, making us feel at home wherever we were. Even after our tour was technically over, On-Foot helped us with an upsetting travel complication that occurred on our final day.

From Amalfi to Sorrento, this route indulged all our senses. Our initial three nights in the town of Amalfi gave us time to ditch the crowds and head up, up and even more uphill. There, trails led to wonders that oceanside day-trippers never experience, from lovely forests, streams and fruit groves to ancient landmarks with fascinating histories (provided for us by On Foot), highlighted by unparalleled cliff and ocean views. The next town of Praiano charmed us with its colorful ceramic artwork. Positano was too crowded with tourists for our taste (although Hotel Pupetto was well-sited, with its own beach), and the upcountry village of Sant' Agata felt gray (due in part to the fog and rain). However, Sorrento charmed us with its winding alleys, water-side restaurants and great day hikes. Each day's route challenged us with serious climbs and descents, but this 67- and 70-year old duo managed well and ended each day tired but happy.

As we planned the trip, On Foot guided us with utter professionalism, immediately responding to our various questions and concerns and tailoring our trip to specific needs. Before the trip, we benefited greatly from the thoughtful and thorough background information which On Foot provided. The directions, maps and GPS they sent for each route were right on the money, and we felt safe and well cared-for from start to finish.
