Excellent holiday in north Bohemia, great walks, excellent walking notes and information materials, good back up admin
We had a 7 day hotel to hotel walking holiday in north Bohemia. It was special because of : the unusual scenery, the quality of the walks and notes, the hotel choice and advice on eating places. Quirky hotels, unusual food. Ruined castles, weird rock formations, well preserved baroque towns. Like a trip back in time.

Had several phone calls ahead of the trip to fix details etc. Good local representation. Good post holiday response to feedback

Beautiful walk through the Dordogne
Equipped with maps, instructions and a GPS app, we ambled through the French countryside near and along the Dordogne, encountering vineyards, waterfalls, limestone cliffs, small towns, quiet churches, cows and sheep with the reward of a well-deserved rest following excellent meals at lovely hotels, each with its unique charm.

On-Foot prepares its clients well, with maps, directions and even a private tutorial on how to work the GPS app. The hotels chosen by On-Foot served fabulous dinners and breakfasts. More importantly, the operators were friendly, making us feel at home wherever we were. Even after our tour was technically over, On-Foot helped us with an upsetting travel complication that occurred on our final day.

On Foot Holidays - Amalfi Coast
From Amalfi to Sorrento, this route indulged all our senses. Our initial three nights in the town of Amalfi gave us time to ditch the crowds and head up, up and even more uphill. There, trails led to wonders that oceanside day-trippers never experience, from lovely forests, streams and fruit groves to ancient landmarks with fascinating histories (provided for us by On Foot), highlighted by unparalleled cliff and ocean views. There, trails led to wonders that oceanside day-trippers never experience, from lovely forests, streams and fruit groves to ancient landmarks with fascinating histories (provided for us by On Foot), highlighted by unparalleled cliff and ocean views. The next town of Praiano charmed us with its colorful ceramic artwork. Positano was too crowded with tourists for our taste (although Hotel Pupetto was well-sited, with its own beach), and the upcountry village of Sant' Agata felt gray (due in part to the fog and rain). However, Sorrento charmed us with its winding alleys, water-side restaurants and great day hikes. Each day's route challenged us with serious climbs and descents, but this 67- and 70-year old duo managed well and ended each day tired but happy.

As we planned the trip, On Foot guided us with utter professionalism, immediately responding to our various questions and concerns and tailoring our trip to specific needs. Before the trip, we benefited greatly from the thoughtful and thorough background information which On Foot provided. The directions, maps and GPS they sent for each route were right on the money, and we felt safe and well cared-for from start to finish.

On Foot - Naxos and Amorgos
This walking holiday treated us to a heady taste of the old world and introduced us to the real Greece, more removed from tourists than the better-known islands, and that's just what we were looking for. Our daily hikes, which led us along the old stone mule paths with breathtaking Aegean Sea views, were just challenging enough for this 67- and 70-year-old fit couple. Our daily hikes, which led us along the old stone mule paths with breathtaking Aegean Sea views, were just challenging enough for this 67- and 70-year-old fit couple. Highlights of each day included sweet and quiet villages, countless white Greek Orthodox churches and stunning ocean panoramas from on high. We fell in love with the locals, whose warm greetings and hospitality made us feel right at home. On Amorgos, our host Marios was always ready with a kind smile and helpful information, and we fell in love with our Naxos host, the effervescent Nicoletta of Hotel Grotto (where the daily breakfast was unrivaled). All in all, a trip to remember for years to come.

On Foot Holidays - Liguria
This 67- and 70-year-old couple gravitates toward hikes that are at once beautiful and remote, and this tour fit the bill perfectly. To our delight, we rarely ran into other hikers. The route led through some quite rugged areas that challenged our fitness, and on two ridge-climb days we hiked through unseasonable conditions of snow, wind, thunder and bog-like mud, but we never felt out of our league, and the views from the ridge-tops were completely ...

The route led through some quite rugged areas that challenged our fitness, and on two ridge-climb days we hiked through unseasonable conditions of snow, wind, thunder and bog-like mud, but we never felt out of our league, and the views from the ridge-tops were completely worth it. Each lodging felt personal. In fact, we were the only guests at 4 of the 7 accommodations, so we had an intimate visit with the hosts, who spoke enough English to invite lively, charming conversation. Every evening, we feasted on generous dinners highlighting the specialties of Liguria, including a pesto that we're still talking about. At the end of our triumphant downhill march to charming, seaside Camogli, we stood on the beach and high-fived our accomplishments. It was an immersion into a part of Italy we never would have explored otherwise.

Cared for every step of the way - from soup to nuts!
My friend and I heard about On Foot Holidays from our massage therapist who was getting ready to go on this same Tuscany trip last October. My friend and I heard about On Foot Holidays from our massage therapist who was getting ready to go on this same Tuscany trip last October. When she returned she raved about it and we immediately began perusing the site for which route we would like to try, ultimately deciding to do the same trip! We had some traveling mishaps on the way which delayed our arrival and beginning of the walk, but On Foot was with us on the phone and Whatsapp to help iron out the glitches and suggest how to get back on the schedule. They are INCREDIBLY responsive to emails and calls! We are based in the US and even with the time zone difference they answered queries so quickly it made us wonder if they ever sleep! They helped us keep our good humor as we navigated our way and we so appreciated the kindness and help! The trip was well-planned, well notated on the maps and narrative sheets of instructions. The places they booked for us to stay were several levels up from the kinds of places we ever treat ourselves, made us feel like country mice in the city (is that a reference that makes sense to the reader???) The walks were so beautiful - at least five times every day I would say to myself, "THIS has to be my favorite section of the trip," only to have another part further down the trail hit me the same way I am immensely grateful to this company for making this trip so easy. Yes, I could have done all of the leg work to find places to stay, to figure out how to get my luggage to the next stop, to figure out trails, etc. But as I enter semi-retirement and the grandmother stage of my life, while I still have energy and passion to travel slowly through other places and experience different cultures/languages/scenery - I truly appreciate that there is a business that values my time and the money I have worked a long career to earn and spend well. I plan to take at least another trip with On Foot, and hopefully even more!

On Foot Holidays is a business that works tirelessly for their clients, providing the most comprehensive bundle of services for curated walking tours in various countries, differing levels of difficulty, and lengths of time. They plan the routes down to the minutest of instructional detail, and suggest ways to make the experience even richer by adding information about local sites of interest, and historical context. They are top notch, and we felt well cared for the whole time.

Wonderful walking holiday
We did a self guided trip arranged by On Foot holidays, from the Basque Pyrenees to San Sebastian in Spain. We had never done one before and really enjoyed the experience. The scenery was beautiful, often spectacular and we loved the walking on to another lovely village each day before arriving at the coast at the end of the week. Altogether a wonderful holiday.

On Foot were exceptionally well organised and efficient. Every question we asked in advance was answered promptly and fully. Their guide in Spain was available to us to contact each day which was especially useful in the evenings when thinking about any changes we might make to the next day's itinerary. We felt fully supported and really enjoyed the experience of holidaying with them.

Walking the beautiful Amalfi Coast
We walked the Amalfi Coast and had an amazing time - we walked from Amalfi to Sorrento and also visited Pompeii. The scenery was beautiful and the people friendly. We enjoyed walking in the hills and mountain paths, seeing the local culture and feel we saw parts of the Amalfi Coast that tourists don't usually get to see when visiting the area. We stayed in some wonderful hotels and enjoyed excellent food throughout our holiday.

On foot holiday having been excellent, the information they provided us with and the pack sent to us before we left for the holiday contains everything you need and more. There are tips about the villages, places to eat, sites to sea and every detail has been thought of it would seem. Our luggage was transported seamlessly each day and we had no problems at all during the holiday. I would highly recommend on foot holidays.
