Go Slow in Southern Spain

An excellent mix of bird watching, cultural visits and eating out at very different restaurants. Superb tour leaders who produced wonderful picnic lunches in the middle of nowhere!

Wildlife tour to Coto Donana and Extremadura

As birdwatchers in our 80s, the whole trip was outstanding, and made easy for us by excellent organisation and leadership. A wonderful wildlife experience in beautiful locations.

Excellent organisation and leadership, both before and during the tour. Tour leaders were extremely knowledgable, sensitive to client needs, and provided amazing picnic lunches. A wonderful holiday in every respect.

So Enjoyable

Quite simply - I had a thoroughly lovely time. We were met at the airport with a smile from Neil, our tour leader which set the scene for a very happy, laid back natural history tour. Both hotels that we stayed at were of a very acceptable standard as was the transport which we were provided with. Neil, our tour leader, was a font of easily accessable knowledge with the patience of a saint (how many times did he have to repeat himself as people gathered to observe the latest find!). Just a great holiday all round.

Not really much to say - everything is so orderley and seamless that it seems as though your holiday has begun the moment that you contact them. Everyone is just so very helpful, information and instructions are clear and consice. Love them.

Fantastic. Exceeded all my expectations

This was a wildlife holiday to Panama staying in the Canopy Tower. Not a luxurious holiday but a holiday aimed at true naturalists who don't mind some basics. Despite the basics we were treated like it was a luxurious holiday.

Delights of the Dordogne

Having previously visited the Dordogne for two weeks of intensive French tuition, it was relaxing to just focus on the wildlife (especially the orchids) & sightseeing. I love the wildflower meadows and the pretty villages. Our two guides were excellent & complemented each other well, with one being the botanical expert & the other local guide organising our off-the-beaten-track itinerary & lunchtime picnics. Staff at Hotel Chastrusse were extremely accommodating & the 3 course evening meals were fantastic. Our bedroom overlooking a swimming pool was quiet, cool and the bed was comfortable. Fittings not high quality but perfectly adequate. The dining area and bar were more characterful. The countryside surrounding the hotel was unspoilt - lovely to hear cuckoos throughout the week & spot blue tits feeding their young in the brickwork of the main house! Great to see so many species & a profusion of butterflies - sadly in contrast to the UK. Another highlight was the content of an overnight moth trap, notably a Giant Peacock moth, Cream-spot Tiger moths & two species of hawkmoth. I had seen the medieval town of Sarlat during my previous visits to the Dordogne but not the clifftop Rocamadour or any of the other villages.

The Naturetrek office provided detailed, personalised pre-departure information, including trip reports from previous years. We have joined several Naturetrek trips since 2018, notably to Madagascar, The Gambia, Scotland & Dorset. This latest holiday did not disappoint!

Rural delight in Tuscany!

As our energy levels are not what they were, we were keen to go on a Naturetrek 'Go Slow in ...' holiday and this trip did not disappoint. The group and guides all got on very well and we had lots of fun. We were thrilled to see bird species that we've never seen before. The hotel was gorgeous - it had comfortable rooms, delicious food and wine. The staff were very friendly and helpful, going above and beyond what you'd expect. We've already ...

We've now been on 3 Naturetrek holidays. The guides have all been very knowledgeable and good company and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for wildlife holidays.

Small group tour (8) focussing on wildlife in the beautiful and remote Ardnamurchan peninsula, led by an expert guide. Bunkhouse accommodation and home cooked food led to it being very relaxed.

Franchises Lodge in the New Forest

The day trip was organised to a new RSPB Reserve in the New Forest. We had an excellent introduction to the site, saw a wide range of birds and other wildlife and learnt about the area, work being undertaken and the plans for the future.

Naturetrek-well organised, straight-forward and helped sort an earlier flight for me, as requested. Everything went smoothly. Our guide was great all the way through, sorting picnics and the best places to go, finding and identifying all the birds and other wildlife that we could see in the area.
