Uzbekistan - Nature and Culture

A good mix of both nature - mainly birds of which there were many different varieties and we had some excellent sightings. We followed the Silk Route, so culture was to the fore in all the cities we visited where we had very good and most informative guides.

A full exploration of the many varied and delightful ecosystems of the Wengen area

With a guide of infinite energy who really knew the area as well as his wildlife, and a manageable group of 15 enthusiasts (interests in many different areas) this was a holiday of a lifetime. Some of us had days off due to illness but in the pure mountain air recovered remarkably quickly, although possibly had Covid. Loved the small family hotel ably run by Martina, usually with her latest arrival strapped to her body! Plenty of good but mainly simple food to keep us all going.

Think I already have! He learnt quickly about the abilities of his group. Every day after breakfast he went out to buy our lunch, and later prepared bread, cheese, meat, salad, fruit, chocolate, up in the mountains (didn't want our help!) for our lunch. A full debrief in the evenings tended to be too much for some of us who often retired to bed in the middle of it! We would have like a bit more botany rather than just the names (of course there was some, but a bit more would have been good).

Wildlife and scenery in Svalbard

We cruised around Spitsbergen, on a small vessel. We had excellent guides, who were very knowledgable about all aspects - glaciers, animals, birds and plants, and brilliant at wildlife spotting. We saw loads of great wildlife, and wonderful scenery. Caught in the SAS pilot strike, we were impressed by how Naturettek handled this, especially their communication with our group regarding what they were doing to get us home.

Professional and friendly, and as noted above, really took the stress out of our delay - sorting accommodation, alternative flights, and keeping us informed.

Exmoor in Spring

After the 'Covid' restrictions on travel, it was good to get away for a couple days and enjoy the Devon countryside, and the nature in Exmoor National Park.

I have travelled many times with 'Naturetrek' and never once been disappointed. The guides are always a joy to be with and their knowledge of each area visited was outstanding. I cannot fault their organisation - first class!

Wonderful 6 days in Northumberland

Naturetrek arranged the trip to cover birdlife in Northumberland as well as any other nature related sights and sounds. Based in a great hotel in Bamburgh where the rooms were comfortable, food excellent and friendly helpful staff. All trips were well organised including the Farne islands, Coquet and Lindisfarne. The guides were knowledgeable and very helpful.

Great Birding in North Yorkshire

Small Group of keen amateurs for a short guided tour of the North Yorkshire Coast and Moors with a local expert. Based in a good and welcoming hotel near Scarborough. Specialist local knowledge led us to extremely good nature sites - lots of birds and animals seen - some firsts for us. Very relaxed and enjoyable holiday.

We have used Naturetrek as our wildlife holiday operator for many years and have never been disappointed. The local and Naturetrek guides have been excellent. They know where to go to get the most out of the trip, are knowledgeable, are patient and very friendly. Naturetrek have proved very flexible and efficient - no traumas in booking any of our holidays with them and adjusting flights to cater for our visiting local friends prior to, or after, their tours.

Exciting, informative and fun!

Never having been to Romania before it was a step into unfamiliar territory! So that was exciting! We met some lovely people on the tour and the guides were very knowledgeable and very informative so we learnt a lot not only about the birds but about Romania itself! We had a lot of fun spotting birds and seeing a wonderful setting in which they live. The Danube Delta was amazing as were the Carpathians - we had very comfortable accommodation ...

Rating for tour operator:

The Tour operator was very helpful, all the paperwork was explained and was sent out in good time and gave us time to ensure that we had everything we needed for the trip and for the journey and good advice regarding currency and where best to exchange it. This is the second trip with this operator and we will shortly be looking at a third for next year. They are very reliable, helpful and the range of trips is amazing and covers every age range. Well recommended.

Birds and Wildlife in Yorkshire Coast and Moors

A short break with Naturetrek, that included visiting the impressive sea bird colonies at RSPB Bempton, an evening watching Nightjars and a day on the Yorkshire Moors. Although we didn't see the long staying Albatross (that's wildlife for you) we had an excellent time as a small group with a leader we would highly recommended

Naturetrek provided all the importation we needed before the tour. The hotel was comfortable, and ideally situated. The leader was also very friendly and knowledgeable, giving us the chance to see lots of birds, and other wildlife such as butterflies and seals.
