A week birding in the southern Algarve, with a day in the Alentejo and a pelagic trip off Cap st Voncent

Efficient, friendly, helpful, human!

The holiday was packed with interesting wildlife sightings accompanied by a wealth of information from the tour leaders. The venue was excellent with a good range of facilities and a new culinary experience every night.

This is our fifth excursion with Naturetrek and once again we were not disappointed. The holiday was twice postponed because of the Covid epidemic and the tour operator was very supportive throughout. The office staff and tour leaders were all very knowledgeable and helpful as usual.

My short break was timed to coincide with the Autumn bird migration over the Straits of Gibraltar. We stayed in delightful ranch style accommodation, just outside Tarifa, Spain, where the beds were comfortable and the food delicious and plentiful. The rustic decor lent a homely ambience to the place. We could not have been made more welcome by our hosts and their staff. We had brilliant guides, who were experts in their field, who managed to outwit the weather and find excellent birdwatching sites, A trip out to The Straits secured wonderful views of whales and dolphins, rounding off a fabulous five days.

Naturetrek is a company that I have often travelled with to many different destinations around the world. They do exactly what they say, and deliver on their promises. Their customer service is pleasure to deal with, able to smooth any minor glitches. They offer a variety of holidays to suit every need that doesn't break the bank..

6 nights at Cortijo El Indiviso near Tarifa. Accommodation was superb, beautifully renovated and in a lovely area. Birding each day depending on our guides local knowledge and a boat trip into the Straits of Gibraltar for whale and dolphin watching. Our two tour leaders were brilliant, friendly, knowledgeable and great fun, they made the holiday extra special.

Wildlife varied and abundant compared to other safaris. Some encounters in actual camps, elephants and hippos! Walking safaris also an option with boat or canoe trips to view from river a different experience. Great guides and staff generally. Bird life a real joy, especially carmine bee eaters and malachite kingfishers.

Have used Nature Trek before so confidence was justified. All communications with Nature Trek before were very professional and information pack was detailed and useful.

Daily excursions from the two four star hotel bases at Tavira and Sagres. Two very well informed leaders who didn't have any problems identifying the many birds that we observed. Excellent accommodation and meals. Each day was packed with visiting many different locations and nature reserves to see a wide variety of migrant birds with some exceptional, and unexpected, sightings. The sea trip was one to remember and exceeded everyone's expectations.

Very well organised, reliable, helpful and friendly. Able to relax in the knowledge that every last detail has been organised and the leaders are always so capable to deal with any problems, no matter how small, that may occur. Have been on several Naturetrek tours over the years and wouldn't go with anyone else now.

The day trip was well organised and led by an expert ornithologist. The result was a fascinating and very enjoyable day of discovery. of the local birds. The leader provided a wonderful commentary on every aspect of the great variety of birds and other wildlife encountered.

A one-day trip to RSPB Minsmere with Brian Small as our guide. Brian is a superb guide with exceptional knowledge which he readily passes on to all participants. Due to this it was a very enjoyable and educational day. We would not have seen or understand the range of birds and other wildlife we saw without him.

Naturetrek offers an unrivalled range of wildlife holidays. Guides are fantastic in relation to knowledge and care of participants. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone in the company.

Our Guide, Brian Small, was charming, extremely knowledgeable about birds & other wildlife & determined that everyone should see as much as possible
