Amazing wildlife experiences
Everything organised for you; flights, transport, accommodation & meals. The choice of locations visited and the knowledge and experience of our guides could not be better.

Faultless and seamless from the moment you arrive at the airport. Information provided before the holiday, and follow ups afterwards were both excellent.

NatureTrek - Carpathian Mountains & Danube Delta
It was a terrific experience which more than met our expectations. We were led by two superb guides whose knowledge and awareness of wildlife was exemplary. The organisation was of a high standard throughout. We received detailed information and reviews and accounts of previous trips to this area soon after enquiring and even more detail after booking. The veracity of that information was impressive and we were pleased to have had such good preparation. When travelling to see wildlife we would expect surprises, adventure and some personal effort; there was plenty of such experience. As already mentioned, they employed guides and local facilities and personnel of the highest order.

Relaxed appreciation of alpine plants and beautiful mountainous scenery
Group of 15 with two guides based in Ehrwald in Austrian tyrol. The focus was on appreciation of Alpine plants in the late spring/early summer. The client group were all really enthusiastic about this and the guides very knowledgeable. It was at a relaxed pace and we used different cable cars or chairlifts on most days to walk short distances and appreciate the beautiful surroundings. The hotel and food was excellent!

Nature trek run trips focussed on some aspect of the beauty of the natural world and with each of my three trips with them I have always found the guide to be extremely knowledgeable, the holiday well thought through and well organised. It’s probably my favourite holiday company.

Brilliant all-inclusive guided nature holiday
The arrangements from start to finish were excellent. The hotel was outstanding - good food and very comfortable. The daily trips out were wonderful and well-planned, taking into account the needs of the group, variety, length of trips etc. The area was outstanding - beautiful scenery, great nature, knowledgeable leaders, etc . . . . . All transport was taken care of - comfortable and safe drivers.

Wildlife and landscape of Madagascar

We travelled from north to south of the island. The accommodation was excellent, ranging from back to nature lodges in the wilderness to urban hotels near airports. Staff in all the establishments we stayed at were friendly and helpful. Our guide Flo and driver Felix in northern Madagascar made a great team. Flo was an excellent guide and passed on his knowledge of the animals, landscape and local culture of the areas we visited. He was always happy to help us when needed on the hikes during our trip. Lots of fun and a good sense of humour. We felt very comfortable and safe with Felix our driver, he negotiated the challenging road surfaces in our 4x4 vehicle with great care. In southern Madagascar our guide Mbola and driver John were both excellent. Mbola was passionate about the regeneration of nature in his country and was eager to pass on his knowledge to us. He knew where to find the territory of certain lemurs which improved our chance of good sightings. John drove us safely and was happy to stop at photo opportunities when asked. Our holiday certainly gave us special lasting memories.

This is the first time we have travelled with Naturetrek and was not disappointed. For my special birthday we planned visit Madagascar to hopefully see wildlife particularly lemurs and chameleons, also landscapes such as tsingy and spiney forest. As a couple we like to have a tailor-made holiday and Georgie put together an interesting and varied itinerary based on things we had requested to see / do. The pre-departure information was detailed and thorough, everything you need to know before travelling to Madagascar. Georgie responded promptly to our emails when we had a flight cancellation whilst in Madagascar and our itinerary had to be rearranged which was done seamlessly and worked out well. We would definitely recommend Naturtrek for wildlife / nature holidays.

Shetland - Wildlife Wonder in a land steeped in history
Essentially but not limited to experiencing the natural world of the Shetland Islands. Magic moments with Red-necked Phalarope puddling along the edge of a loch just 20 feet or so in front of my toes, watching an otter grooming herself in the sunlight, the view of Muckle Flugga - the northernmost point of the British Isles - cake fridges, Jarlshof, great coffee and the best cinnamon whirls ever in the lighthouse cafe, Storm Petrels 'talking' ...

And a guide who not only showed us all these things, but thought about us, too, and remembered the need for things like comfort stops.

I have travelled with Naturetrek many times now, since my first trip with them in 2007. I have always found their organisation excellent. I live in the NE of Scotland, so joining trips is not always the easiest of things for me, but they help me by making my flights 'through trips' when possible, even if that means my travelling on a different carrier from others on the same trip. Their guides are always very knowledgeable and helpful, and make sure everyone gets the most from their holiday.

Sark in Summer with Naturetrek
A nature holiday involving daily walks from our home base hotel around the island led by 2 experienced guides from Naturetrek. Also included was a boat trip around the island to see the sea birds and mammals.

Butterflies and Moths of The Spanish Pyrenees
Lovely 7 days walking with a knowledgeable and personable guide in the foothills of the Pyrenees. We were 8 group members and being likeminded had a very stimulating and rewarding time. The accommodation and meals were excellent down to the tableclothed lunch picnics!

Received informative mailings well in advance and a number of questions relating to my personal situation sympathetically dealt with. The touring transport provided was comfortable and driving by the host/guide left me with no worries. The guides and checklists to the flora and fauna we could encounter were useful and the evening gathering to do a check list and compare notes for the days experiences was helpful to those of us new with the Pyrenees.

Scotland - the Isle of Coll in summer
An all round naturalist holiday looking a birds, flowers and everything else. We had an excellent all round guide who knew the island intimately. One of the days was spent looking for dolphins and whales and we stopped at one of the Treshnish islands to look at a wide range of sea birds including puffins.

I have been on many Naturetrek tours over the years. The tours are very well planned and the leaders are experts in their field. As I have got older I rely on their grading to make sure that the tour is within my capability. However the tour leaders are always ready with a helping hand when required. Naturetrek always sends out a pre-departure briefing which is always excellent. and the itinerary is always well planned and detailed. We also get a trip report written by the tour leader which details all the birds etc. that we have seen as well as a daily report.

The choice of trips available are numerous, varied and diverse, so this can mean some consideration and time involved before choosing the right one. Naturetrek always follow up any queries one may have regarding the trips such as travel arrangements, and with their informative prompt replies, one has the assurance needed before placing a deposit for a Trip. They are also keen for clients to review trips, so you feel they want to get things right for the client, which is not always the case with other Travel Operators.
