Fantastic bird watching tour of South Morocco

The holiday was a tour of The very varied and fascinating landscape and towns of south Morocco. It was primarily a bird watching trip. The trip was great for photography and to learn about the sights nature and culture of the region

The two local guides were excellent and very friendly. The U.K. guides were the best bird identifiers I have met. Their enthusiasm, good humour and knowledge of the places that we visited was incredible

Fabulous guided wildlife watching in Norfolk

A really enjoyable few days watching wildlife in Norfolk, in a friendly group, and with two very knowledgeable guides who knew the area well and the best places to spot wildlife, and helped us see an impressive list of wildlife - highlights for me were close up views of bitterns, bearded tits, barn owls, cranes and red deer. We all stayed in comfortable accommodation in a guest house on a farm, and for some of the best wildlife viewing were able to drive a few minutes from the guesthouse.

The 7 of us on the trip were well cared for by the 3 camp staff and excellent food was produced on the camp fire daily including a freshly baked cake at 3pm each afternoon! The en-suite facilities take a little getting used to but well worth the effort. Being surrounded by animals meant very different night time noises and also the the dawn chorus was interesting. My husband and I both enjoyed the holiday immensely.

A hard travelling and very well led tour

This was 10 days and 2000 miles of birdwatching in Southern Morocco led by two highly knowledgeable guides and with two safe and sensible drivers. We saw birds galore, great scenery, visited cities and souks. We had a very very good time and the group we travelled with were very nice too.

Nature Trek. What they gave us was what they said they would. Even so the guides were a cut above with Martin in particular having a vast breadth of regional knowledge.

Amazing knowledgeable, enthusiastic and caring Crew, who helped us have the best experience possible, always without compromising wildlife welfare. Our cook dished up the most amazing food, probably the best Vegan food we have had on such a Trip and we were given so much thought and consideration. Could not recommend the whole experience enough. Just ‘wow’!.

A great weekend in the Norfolk Broads

We went on a three-day birdwatching/wildlife tour in the Norfolk Broads. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by very generous and friendly hosts into their converted barn with private rooms, a coffee lounge, a dining area, and a bar/meeting area. There was endless tea and coffee/biscuits, the meals were very generous and my partner who is vegan was well catered for. The tour guides met us in the coffee lounge and after introductions we headed out for the evening. We had the most incredible views of owls, cranes, harriers and a variety of other wildlife at sunset, before heading back for an evening meal. The next day we had an optional pre-breakfast walk where there were more cranes and seals. After a generous breakfast we set out for the day where we saw four types of deer, lots of ducks and wader and various other wildlife, On the final day we had a rainy pre-breakfast walk (the only bad weather we saw) followed by (after breakfast) a trip to Great Yarmouth to see waders, a larger seal colony and a real treat - two bitterns. Throughout, our guides were excellent, impeccable in their bird and wildlife knowledge but also clearly passionate for their specialist field, the local area, and in sharing this enthusiasm with others at all levels. There was huge excitement for more common birds as well as for the real rarities. This was a great advert for Naturetrek tours and we wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Rating for tour operator:

Hugely efficient in booking and arranging the tour, everything was seamless, and they were very polite when they had to chase me up for a delayed form.

I have used Naturetrek many times and this was no exception to the quality of their service. Everything went very smoothly including a last-minute change of internal flights by the South African airline. The guides were exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable about the local birds and wildlife. Nothing was too much for them. I went in the hope of seeing Aardwolf, Aardvark and the very off chance of the endangered Pangolin. I saw the two formerly mentioned animals so was incredibly happy. The night drives were very well run and again the staff running the night drives could not do enough for you. I have a slight disability which was cared for incredibly well.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek are a well-staffed and organized company who will always look into any queries you might have and come up with in all cases in my experience with a suitable answer to the question. I have a slight disability and ask before I book any holiday whether they think I am capable of undertaking it. I have always got a responsible and honest answer as I have met a number of staff and they know my capabilities. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The staff / guides they use in all their destinations are knowledgeable and helpful.

Andean Flora and Birds of Eccuador

Extremely interesting tour of southern Ecuador visting the Avenue of Volcanoes and then across to the hot springs of Papallacta. The main emphasis was on the flora of different eco-systems but bird life was of equal interest as well as cultural visits to Cuenca and Loja.

Rating for tour operator:

Very experienced in the field of natural history tours. They use excellent local tour guides who are very knowledgeable in their subjects and who also speak English. Their local agents are well chosen. Very flexible in accommodating individuals arriving at the starting point of the tour ahead of the main group joining the tour
