This was a holiday to celebrate Naturetrek's 30th anniversary. They had taken over a small, very comfortable hotel in the foothills of the Pyrenees, where we stayed with a group of wildlife enthusiasts and leaders. Every day we were taken out in a fleet of minibuses to various places in the mountains, where we were able to walk and enjoy the wildlife and scenery in the company of excellent leaders in various aspects of wildlife. The group was usually split into 3 with each group focusing on a particular aspect, which worked out very well and ensured that everybody was well catered for.

We have had holidays with this operator on 11 occasions, and have only ever had 1 bad experience, which was rapidly and efficiently dealt with on our return.

It was one of the best wildlife holidays ever. There was so much to see. We cruised to some truly remote Amazon tributaries which we explored in small canoes with just the wildlife for company. We were constantly rewarded with sightings of pink river dolphins, monkeys, sloths and an overwhelming variety of tropical birds. A highlight was a flight of 12 scarlet macaws flying across the river in front of the boat with the morning light emphasising the brilliance of their scarlet and blue plumage.

A really professional company with every detail taken care of.

This was a one-week holiday for those wanting to improve their bird-watching. The hotel in Extremadura - Hotel Rural Vina Las Torres, near Trujillo - was one of the most enjoyable hotels I have stayed in anywhere in the world. The food and wine - all included - were excellent, the hosts were as welcoming as is possible, and for those who wanted it there was even after-dinner classical music, some of a professional standard. The main purpose of the holiday was bird-watching, which the two Naturetrek leaders organised very well, with outings early morning and through the day to see the wealth of bird-life in this area of Spain, and one night outing to see owls. They used two minibuses, to give us plenty of room. Excellent picnic lunches kept us going through the day, augmented by occasional coffee stops in local cafes. We also visited Trujillo. It was all well organised and most enjoyable.

My wife and I travel with Naturetrek frequently, all over the world. Their holidays are primarily aimed at viewing the local wildlife, sometimes with more traditional cultural or historic sightseeing where that is appropriate. We feel well looked after. The hotels they use are well-chosen: the accommodation is often in small rural hotels, sometimes of a very high standard. Their holiday leaders are all very knowledgable in their fields, enthusiastic, and eager to ensure that we see all the wildlife that is available, and to get the most from the holiday as is possible. We also find the admin staff to be most helpful in getting the arrangements to suit us as far as possible. We have had some very memorable holidays.

The trip took in a variety of landscapes, with a chance to find birds, butterflies and wild plants with the help of our knowledgable guide. We were based in a small, friendly and excellent guest house throughout the week. The food was plentiful and featured local specialities. Picnics organised by our leader were varied and included local produce. Walks were not strenuous- routes were planned to cater for different abilities amongst our small group. We also enjoyed the chance to visit some of the local towns and villages.

We have been on many trips with Naturetrek through the years. We have found all of them well organised and led, and the booking arrangements have always been efficient.

Thought that Albania might be a bit grey with lots of identical tower blocks of flats but it was beautiful with happy, friendly people everywhere.We birdwatched on the coast for 3 days before taking the long journey to the mountains where the scenery was stunning.Shooting was only banned in 2014 so there was not the quantity of birds around but plenty of variety.The food, always plentiful, was a mixture of Turkish, Italian and Greek and delicious.

We have used Naturetrek for many years and love the places they visit. Their holidays are always well planned and we're never disappointed at the number of birds we see. We like the fact that once we've paid for the holiday the only money we need is for drinks, and tips for drivers and guides.

An excellent week's holiday seeing the birdlife and other natural history in Poland. We stayed at two centres in the east, firstly near the forests, then in the marshland further north. Accomodation was excellent, as was the the wildlife that could be seen at both bases. Besides the key birds it was wonderful to see Bison close up in the early morning dew and mist.

My second tour with Naturetrek, and I've already booked my third! They are a top wildlife company and can be relied on to provide expert guides, wonderful experiences and pleasing accomodation. I would definitely recommend them to anyone wishing to travel on such holidays.

A trip to various parts of Albania, enjoying bird and plant life together with some historical sites and mountain scenery. Excellent food most of the time with an especially interesting experience eating with farmers up in the mountains.

Informative, helpful and easy to deal with

We saw lots of sea birds, flowers and moths on the beautiful island of Alderney. We also explored some of the island's historical remains. We were excited to see some blonde hedgehogs one evening. It rained all day the first day but that didn't keep us in, and we enjoyed it all the more when we had glorious sunshine later.

Very well organised Naturetrek holiday with two knowledgeable guides.

A well organised trip where only the weather and high waves impeded our views of cetaceans. Pico is a fascinating island both scenically and geologically. We caught up with 'ordinary' birds transformed by their island isolation like the beautiful Blue Chaffinch. But brief views of Fin and Sperm Whales earlier in the week were eclipsed by a dazzling day of Loggerhead Turtles, Common, Bottlenose and sparring Risso's Dolphins with an afternoon gazing in awe at the incredible length of not one, but two Blue Whales. Luck plays a part of course, but Naturetrek and the expertise of CW Azores enabled views that would be hard to beat anywhere in the world. Memorable - another tick on anyone's wildlife 'bucket list.' But much more than that - a real insight into a cetaceans world about which we still know comparatively little

Naturetrek - they do what says on the can - they deliver a well run and enjoyable holiday and enable a rich wildlife experience

Eight days were spent exploring the wilder areas of the island, divided between Plakias in the south and Chania in the north and staying in two very comfortable hotels. We were rewarded by wall to wall sunshine which made our expeditions and picnic lunches that much more enjoyable. One particularly memorable event was traversing the Imbros Gorge. With such a rich history it was only right that our leaders included visits to some of the most interesting archeological sites, also to get a flavour of the Greek culture our evening meals took in a wide variety of local dishes.

I have been on a number of Naturetrek Holidays and have always found them to be enjoyable and well organized. The brochures are informative and the administration staff are pleasant and helpful. I have been with a number of different guides and found them all to have been very knowledgeable, very patient, putting up with repeated questions and, where the holiday has required the guide to be a driver, I have felt safe in their care.
