Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way with Naturetrek

Traveling along the northern Atlantic coast of Ireland to search out bird species, including trips out to Rathlin and Tory Islands. Excellent locations, target species found, especially the iconic Corn Crake.

We came across Naturetrek searching for a birding trip to Ireland. Signing on was quick and easy. Naturetrek was great at communicating the details and very helpful with first time UK travels. Meeting up worked well. Excellent accommodations and meals. Comfortable traveling.

Great wildlife tour in fabulous scenery

A well organised tour with enthusiastic guides. Birdwatching, whale watching, trips to scenic areas and areas of geological interest all added up to a memorable trip.

Well organised, but able to readjust the itinerary when necessary is when weather conditions caused problems with flights

Diversity of Panama

The holiday was based on discovering the mammals of Panama. I thought we would just be in the rain forest. I was very wrong! We also explored cloud forest, coast and the waterways of the canal and saw 29 different mammal species within 8 days. An amazing holiday in a fascinating country!

Solar eclipse and birds

We had a wonderful day viewing the solar eclipse. at Mazatlan. We did lots of other exciting things on the tour, lots of bird watching and visiting cultural sites in Mexico like Teotihuacan.

Naturetrek's 'Go Slow in Tuscany' - a week of wildlife although Tuscan food, wine and culture played an important part in this slower paced holiday

The idea of a Naturetrek wildlife holiday to Tuscany appealed to my husband and I, but it was the 'Go Slow' aspect that really sold it to me. We stayed in an agriturismo in the Maremarre Regional Park where the meals - local food and wine - were excellent and the owners and staff friendly and helpful; we had convivial evening meals sitting at one long table in the restaurant. Two minibuses driven by our tour leaders, both excellent naturalists, took our group to WWF reserves, national parks and on a boat trip to see a great variety of wildlife; they also led early morning and late evening walks through the grounds and farmland around our guesthouse. Self-guided tours of medieval Siena, San Gimignano plus an archaeological site/museum provided some welcome Tuscan culture. Leaders Glyn and Giacomo were fun and did a superb job in dealing with unexpected problems promptly and efficiently.

Rating for tour operator:

This was our second Naturetrek holiday and we rate them highly for their choice of holidays, brochure, website and booking process; telephone queries are dealt with promptly and efficiently. Their holidays are led by wildlife experts, who, in our opinion do all they can to ensure the best wildlife experience for the majority while being attentive to the needs of the diverse individuals in the group.

Interesting

We went to Albania which is a country I knew very little about, I didn’t even know that there were no trains in the whole of the country and that the whole country is supplied by the dams I the north. The countryside is so varied,it is a shame their government is likely to spoil part of it by building a new airport and resort in a site of natural habitats.

A week watching wildlife in the Pyrenees.

A week in the Spanish Pyrenees packed with wildlife of all sorts which anyone could enjoy. The pace was quite gentle but with beautiful views and an outstanding guide there were plenty of thrills. Recommended to anyone who enjoys a refreshing break full of wild wonders.
