Wonderful highlights every day in the Falkland Islands

Our 17 night trip included stays on Carcass, Sealion & Pebble Islands plus 2 nights each at Port Howard & Stanley. Every day included birding highlights, particularly penguins, of which we saw 5 species, plus nesting Black-browed Albatross. In addition we visited Southern Elephant Seal colonies where Orca were seen coming close inshore. The accommodation was in warm comfortable lodges and the food was well prepared and greatly enjoyed. In addition we visited Southern Elephant Seal colonies where Orca were seen coming close inshore. The accommodation was in warm comfortable lodges and the food was well prepared and greatly enjoyed. More than anything the people running the lodges made us very welcome and catered for our needs and engaged with us, as if we mattered to them. Our leader was charming, considerate and humorous and ensured everyone got the most from the trip. He offered help and advice with photography and ensured everyone got a chance in the best seats in the vehicles.

Rating for tour operator:

The organisation of the trip ran like clockwork. We were given pre-departure information. Changes to the itinerary were notified in advance. The logistics of moving our group of 7 around the islands was so smooth, the people involved obviously know what they are doing. I have not travelled with Naturetrek before, but will definitely be considering them for future trips.

It did everything it said on the tin

This was a birdwatchers group holiday to The Gambia. It was well organised and led by a very knowledgeable and helpful guide. The whole holiday experience (travel, accommodation and tours) met our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We also had night drives which were very interesting and in Malawi there were river safaris. The early morning being particularly special. We were so well looked after and although we saw so much it was also very relaxing.

Naturetrek arranged a very comfortable and interesting holiday and everything ran smoothly. They were particularly helpful in arranging for us to collect our visa in Malawi as we hadn't been able to organise it for ourselves in the UK and it all ran like clockwork. All our travel documents arrived 2 weeks before our departure.

Good nature watching trip

This was a speciality nature watching holiday primarily aiming to find the very rare Iberian Lynx. We had good sightings of the Lynx and the holiday was excellent in every respect.

Expedition into the Guyanan jungle to explore the flora and fauna

Back-to-nature expedition for ten people, off the beaten track, yet well-organized and rewarding. Excellent world-class guide who was with us all the way. The whole experience was like following in the footsteps of Planet earth, to see the birds, giant river otters, giant anteaters, cayman and much more. Travel included, planes, local transport trucks, canoes and 4-wheel-drives. Accommodation was basic but efficient, sleeping under mosquito nets or in hammocks, sharing hospitality with the Amerindian natives. Food was excellent traditional fare. This is not a trip for the faint hearted, but those who don't mind getting up at 5am, have reasonable fitness and mobility will find it well worth the effort.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek cannot be faulted. This is the second trip we have done with them and their organization and preparatory notes are excellent. They have excellent planners and local contacts who anticipate problems and think ahead. Based upon our experience we have booked two more trips with them next year. Where there are issues, they listen and work to iron out the problems.

South African bird safari

We went on a 10 day birding safari to South Africa - Dullstroom, Blyde River Canyon and Kruger NP. The trip was booked through Naturetrek and delivered by Lawson's Safaris. Everything was handled excellently throughout. Our requirements are undeniably specialist so a "normal" safari would not do for us which is why we go with Naturetrek.

Although this was nominal a birding holiday we saw many mammals in Kruger and our guide (Gavin Sims of Lawson's Safaris) was knowledgeable on mammals and other wildlife. All the organisation was perfect.
