Wildlife in the fall in Yellowstone

A brilliant trip for nature and wildlife lovers that also included fab local guides with knowledge and enthusiasm for all around us. Nothing too much trouble for both naturetrek and the local guides on the trip. Still glow with the memories of the trip.

Brilliant trip to Vancouver Island and Great Bear Lodge.

This was a fortnight of great bird watching and even greater mammals, incorporating four boat trips to see whales and bears and an outstanding stay at Great Bear Lodge.

Birding the Darien Gap, Panama, staying at Canopy Camp

Arranged with their usual efficiency, this tour with Naturetrek was a triumph for birders - including those who had visited Central America several times before. The Darien Gap is a fascinating destination, the furthest reaches (close to the border with Colombia) being accessible only by canoe. In the space of one week we saw more than 270 species of birds, including the renowned Harpy Eagle, and several mammals and reptiles. Canopy camp is a small tented lodge situated off the Pan American highway in the tropical rain forest. This is close to the "gap", which is few kilometres of rain forest where the jungle defeated the road builders before the highway could resume its course to South America. The lodge is fairly new, very comfortable and expertly run. Visitors should be aware that they will experience very high temperatures and humidity and the possibility of brief tropical downpours. And maybe a spider or two. All part of the wonderful jungle experience this destination offers. Naturetrek has never let me down with the quality of their trips and this was no exception. The guiding was exceptionally good with the greatest attention given to our various requirements and requests. With a bar operated on the honesty system and wine provided with dinner, what could go wrong?

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek is a company that has expanded in recent years to cover a wide variety of tours on the natural history theme. I have found them invariably helpful, whether on group tours (restricted in number of participants) or family/tailor-made trips. Documentation is excellent and the staff are knowledgeable, always friendly and unbelievably patient with the most testing of queries. I would recommend them to anyone interested in adventurous or leisurely eco-travel experience.

Wildlife watching holiday to British Columbia, Canada

This was an excellent trip. We saw all the wildlife we had hoped to see, with excellent views of everything. We were on board a small boat (14 passengers/4 crew) and the crew were excellent -- lots of enthusiasm and help to see things, with very good explanations from the Naturalist, Nathan. Our Naturetrek guide, Rob, was helpful and made sure everyone had seen all the wildlife.

Naturetrek's operation was very good. They answered questions before the trip and everything ran smoothly. I have travelled with Naturtrek on a number of previous holidays and have never been disappointed.

The accommodation was comfortable all be it slightly basic in one location but a better standard in the other two locations. if you like walking, albeit not strenuous this would be good. Food was very nice, different from ours but very nutritious and filling but this is the whole point of experiencing other cultures and seeing the difference. The guide was had a great sense of humour, very knowledgeable and helpful and took into considerations every ones level of fitness. The local Polish guide was a young man, had excellent English and was also very knowledgeable of all out locations. The wildlife was superb, I would love to go back. Great time had by all in the group which gelled very nicely. You are never quite sure how it goes when you go in a group but we were lucky and had a great bunch of people.

This was first experience with Naturetrek and we have been very impressed. All the travel arrangements were organised for us and all information sent to myself and my husband all in plenty of time. Any questions were answered timeoulsy. We would certainly use Naturetrek again for any further trips. Their holidays cover all sorts of topics, places around the world so there is certainly lots of choice and am sure there is something for everyone who enjoys Nature and Wildlife.

Fascinating Water Ways

The Carpathian Mountain gorges are splendid, but more so are the waterways of the Danube Delta. I visited for the first in September, but would looking to return in a spring. The bird life and plants would be at their best at that time of the year. The pontoon house boat on the delta is excellent, but more so the smaller boat used to travel the waterways.

It was the first time that I had traveled with Naturetrek.. I feel that they a very good company.. I was used to traveling with other company's where the guide were knowledgeable in all aspect of nature.. On this trip the guide was very good for birds, but lacking in other subjects. This did not cause me a problem as I could take a photo and confirm sighting once return to the UK. I would use Naturetrek in the future and in fact do have other tours booked with them.

Birds and more in Sweden

We travelled with Naturetrek on their Sweden in Autumn trip 2017. The arrangements and accommodation were excellent and the guide was superb, with a broad range of knowledge on many subjects. We saw a wide range of birds in several different habitats. Overall, a really enjoyable experience.

Watching wildlife in Montana Palentina in Northern Spain, whilst also learning and improving Spanish

Seven days in Montana Palentina, spotting birds, native flora and watching wolves. The trip was a small group in two 4xwheel drive vehicles to spectacular and remote parts of the mountains with three excellent guides who have real knowledge of the wildlife and its conservation. I am a conservation professional in the UK and appreciated the level of knowledge of the guides. Accommodation and food also excellent

Naturetrek plan a wide variety of wildlife holidays which cater for small groups of naturelovers. The trips are well planned and managed by a UK guide and a local guide. I have used them twice and each time there have been travellers who had used them over 20 times! The organisation and content of the tours are exceptional.
