Experienced, knowledgeable guide making wild cats in Navarra an excellent holiday

Six days in Navarra with guide Javi watching wild cats and numerous birds including eygiption vulchers, dippers and wall creepers. Days were well planned starting with good breakfast and excellent picnic lunch. Javi knew the area so well with knowledge on the best places to look for wildcats which paid off with daily sightings. The scenery was amazing. . Thank you for a wonderful holiday

Excellent wildlife tour in Mexico

Cultural visit to Teotihuacan, fantastic experiences with the overwintering Monarch butterflies in Michoacan, various excellent sightings of Humpback whales off Puerto Vallarta and San Blas plus varied birding opportunities throughout, especially with the varied habitats around San Blas.

Magical and life changing journey back in time to another 'world' - so beautiful and so moving.

From the bustling old world and modern city of Yangon to the calm shores of Lake Inle and then the day long boat trip south along the Irrewaddy River to Old Bajan, and finally to the remote mountain life 9,000 ft. up Mount Victoria - we experienced extraordinary insights into the very varied aspects of beautiful Myanmar. We were exposed to its cultural history - the languid, enormous white Buddhas "extended like white whales" (Neruda), the crossed legged gilt Buddhas, the hundreds of golden temples and shrines en masse - and to the extraordinary natural beauty of Myanmar - the huge sky, vast paddy fields, the unspoilt serenity of Lake Inle, the incredible views from Mount Victoria, and then the stunningly beautiful Burmese peoples - the rhythmic 'leg-rower' fishermen, the elegant 'longhi' skirts on both men and women, and all the smiles. And in addition to all this, the most extrordinary knowledge of our tour leaders made for a superb birding trip.

Rating for tour operator:

Sujan Chatterjee and Lay Win, tour leaders, were nothing short of superb. The balance of culture with birding, the diversity of places we visited and the huge variety of landscapes - national parks, valleys, lakes, rivers, deltas, Old Bajan with its hundreds of temples and shrines, and the mountains. The knowledge imparted from Sujan and Lay Win about many aspects of Myanmar's history, its religions, its development, and above all the knowledge of its birds was of great value and added greatly to our tour. Their combined knowledge and experience of Myanmar was immensely rich. In terms of the organisation, I could not imagine any improvement. The mix of activities was so carefully planned and variety of places we stayed in was excellent, not to mention the variety of restaurants and coffee/tea houses - the food was consistently abundant and delicious! They 'looked after' our group very well - without seeming to - we felt comfortably 'free'. When I left Myanmar, I felt as if I had learned so much from the tour. It was a truly amazing, rich experience, in every way.

Taking in the winter wildlife experiences in Japan

A very enjoyable and successful trip to Japan with Naturetrek. All flights, connections and accommodation worked well and the wildlife spectacles were superb. We also managed to take in some cultural aspects of the country and sampled local cuisine extensively. Local guides / translators were very helpful and knowledgeable. Weather also very kind to us !

amazing wildlife viewing

travelling with wildlife experts makes all the difference. I have travelled through Namibia and Botswana before, but with a general travel company. our guide knew all the birds and animals, and we had some amazing encounters. a mother cheetah with her 2 cubs, 2 male lions chewing the ears of a dead rhino just to name a few. and we stayed in wonderful, comfortable lodges. a fantastic trip.

My Naturetrek short break in Iceland delivered the promised "Northern lights and Winter wildlife". The localised blizzard during the first night set the scene with snow bringing out the details of the lava fields and rocky hills. Our indefatigable guides coped splendidly with the icy roads to keep to our itinerary. They made sure everyone in the group was able to see numerous bird species and spent time observing the birds' behaviour. Some of the birds were found where expected and some were a lucky surprise. We also had an afternoon whale-watching, following a much-needed lessening of the wind, and had good sightings of orca and also a brief view of a sperm whale. After busy days driving and guiding, our two guides took us out again after dark, to places away from artificial light so were were under star-strewn skies - and on all three evenings we saw the aurora. The hotels were comfortable and all the travel worked according to plan too.

This was the 5th time I traveled with Naturetrek. Every time, I have enjoyed a well-organised, satisfying wildlife experience with very friendly and knowledgeable guides. The information provided before, during and after the holiday is detailed and useful. Support from the office staff during and after booking is excellent.
