The Wonders of Wildlife

It was a pleasure to experience the breathing of the fresh mountain air, whilst looking for a variety of endemic wild flowers, mammals , birds and insects. Naturetrek are in my opinion the best for wildlife holidays. The staff are so enthusiastic and keen to make the most out of the time spent to see the maximum amount of wildlife, sometimes when the weather conditions can be challenging. Excellent birdwatching experience

Our group really enjoyed every minute of our birdwatching trip to Extremadura and the Gredos Mountains. Every day was different, accommodation was very comfortable, food very good with superb picnics at lunchtime. Rob our guide looked after us extremely well and certainly knew his birds! We had plenty of birds to look at and we also had a lot of laughs! Top class.

Wildlife of the Abruzzo National Park

Wonderful sightings of a variety of birds, plants and wildlife. The many orchids were stunning. Our friendly hotel offered the perfect base, with excellent food.

Great birding in a stunning and peaceful location

The Gambia in Style was everything it promised to be. The birdwatching was excellent lead with great skill by Richard who shared his knowledge in a professional yet relaxed manner. He took great care to ensure that all guests were catered for whatever their needs and abilities. The location was exceptional - luxurious and peaceful. All staff were very welcoming and helpful and we were all sorry to leave at the end of our week.

Five Days Spent Exploring the Floral Wonders of The Burren

We spent 5 days based in Lisdoonvarna in the centre of the Burren area of County Clare in Ireland. Our days were spent visiting the limestone pavements, which abound, in the area, finding and enjoying the many rare and beautiful plants that grow here so abundantly. The landscapes are breathtaking and the natural history is fascinating.

Everything worked smoothly. The hotel Naturetrek used was excellent. Comfortable and very well managed. The food was very good and all dietary requirements were catered for without fuss. The travel arrangements from the hotel to the various places we visited were well thought out and no hitches arose at all. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and added to our enjoyment of the rich natural history.

The Burren

It was a botany holiday where we looked for wild plants (and also birds), visited a private garden and had brief visits to other sights of historical/cultural interest. The hotel and the naturalist guide were both excellent.

Nature at it's colourful best

We travelled in two mini buses and covered the area of marshland containing the famous white horses and the colourful flamingos . We travelled inland to more mountainous areas and saw large birds of prey including 2 Egyption Vultures nesting in a gorge, lovely alpine flowers and enjoyed a perfect woodland picnic area with no other tourists around. The weather was mostly sunny with a strong north wind but it stayed dry for us.

Nature Trek gave us plenty of information regarding our trip and were very efficient throughout.

Fabulous Birding Break

This was an amazing experience. It was well thought out and organised. We saw more than we thought possible in only a few days. The hotel was friendly, pretty and comfortable, the group leaders dedicated and knowledgeable, flights were brilliant despite the mistral diverting us from Marseille to Nice. Everything that needed resolving was resolved. Couldn't fault it.

An interesting introduction to the flora and fauna of The Vercors by a very knowledgeable botanist/naturalist

Under the guidance and tutelage of an experienced botanist/naturalist we explored the limestone region of France, called The Vercors. We were driven to various locations in the region and shown the flora and fauna - and the scenery. Our guide identified the flora and provided us with plenty of information about each species.

Naturetrek: specialise in wildlife holidays. From my experience - this is my third holiday with the company - they provide a professional service. The tour guides I have met have all been very experienced and more than competent in their specialisms. The company provides a holiday that is not only enjoyable but also educational.

Birding / Wildlife experience in The Camargue

Short break in the Camargue with Naturetrek looking for birds and wildlife various. Well thought through from the actual booking process to delivery. Guides were exceptionally knowledgable and engaging, hotel was exactly as "described on the tin". Flights acceptable (are they ever any better nowadays). All in all a very good trip.
