Taiwan may be a small island but it's full of interest.

Taiwan was even more interesting than I had been led to believe. It's got everything from endemic birds to colourful temples, extensive forested mountains, wetlands, inviting food, excellent roads and an entertaining guide who knew how and where to locate many of the birds we were wanting to see.

I have done numerous trips with Naturetrek over the years stretching from one side of the Pacific Ocean to the other and cannot fault them. They have a dedicated team who listen to their clients and do everything to make their expeditions interesting, safe and possible with the minimum of inconvenience for someone at my advanced age.

A West African Paradise

Fantastic first trip, I did not know that such an interesting destination with wildlife and winter sunshine could be enjoyed only a 6 hour flight from the UK. Mandina Lodge was very special - set in the Makasutu cultural forest on a tributary of the Gambia river it had unusual accommodation, wonderful fresh food and friendly knowledgeable local guides.

Fabulous Wildlife experience

It was a 10 day wildlife trip to Kenya. The majority of the time was spent in a luxury permanent tented camp. ( Great tents & excellent food ). Wildlife viewings took place twice a day with an excellent driver/guide. Fantastic viewings of Leopard., Lions with cubs & most exciting for me: Seeing lots of Cheetahs in the wild!

NATURETREK. Specialists in wild life holidays spanning the world! Small group tours mainly & they can also arrange 'tailor made' holidays. Have traveled with them several times to Africa & also to India & Sri Lanka. Have 2 more trips booked with them for 2020. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Birding trip to Ghana

Seven days in the south of Ghana, in a group of six with two guides and a driver. Full-on, as expected. Safe environment. and a pleasant exprerience.. Accommodation varied but adequate. Travel hectic at times ranging from heavy traffic in Accra to rutted dirt roads in rural areas.

Best of all 2 spent 4 to 5 hours sleeping. walking, and lounging around across the river bank from us. Absolutely brilliant. The killers was to turn around a bend in the river and see a 4/5 month old Jag pup drinking from the river. That plus following the family of 8 Great River otters as they swam, fished, argued and eat for a couple of hours. Add to this about 150 different birds. 5 types of colourful kingfishers and some staggering parrots and Hyacinth macaw. Brilliant thoughtout

This was booked through Naturerek. A 3 centre holiday where you stayed just long enough to see everything but not too long so you get bored. The floatel in the Jaguar are so far exceed expectation. Local guide terrifc. A well organised tour, which ticked all the boxes.
