Birdwatching led by the outstanding Nick Bond

Nature trek are excellent….this was our fifth time with them

Some days bird watching on the plains of Extramadura then Gredos mountains with snow , a small blizzard , more birds and orchids

Efficient, tried to upgrade the clients as entry requirements changed . Good tradition of lunch picnics .

Excellent guides whose knowledge of the birds, plants, butterflies and general flora and fauna was exceptional. We have been on many wildlife holidays but this was exceptional. Both of the hotels were to a high standard and we had no faults apart from a rather small room at the first.

We have been with several nature companies over the past 50 years and Naturetrek compares very favourably.

Our guide was all you could wish for, very knowledgeful and brilliant at identifying by song, I learnt a great deal from Nick on the day and saw two new species, a Whitethroat and a Wryneck, which he found for us. A very good day.

Minibuses collected us from the airport and each day we visited different locations, led by two excellent, highly knowledgeable guides, each one full of birds, flowers and scenery. The hotel was very Sicilian, quirky, rural and the grounds full of birds. The food too was excellent.

NatureTrek are very well known and respected, and, judging by my experience, rightly so. They have these tours down pat.

Mainly birds, especially passage migrants but we also saw many beautiful flowers and the naturalists pointed out butterflies, moths, reptiles and anything else of interest.

All the pre-travel arrangements were really well planned and our journey to Faro (including the airport experience) went very smoothly. We found fellow holiday makers and our guides on arrival. From then on we felt in safe hands with enthusiastic and expert guides. The others in the group were like-minded birders and botanisers so we jelled quickly and enjoyed conversations about the natural world and observations on the trips. Of course we were able to discuss other aspects of life too; books, music, gardening, pottery, families, crafting…I loved the variety of locations; riverside, meadow, woodland, coast, cliff tops. There were special, sometimes unique things to spot in each place. We enjoyed the communal meals and free flowing wine!

Everything we needed to know or do was clear which made the journeys go without a hitch.

This holiday was a birdwatching holiday. There were 6 of us plus a Tour Leader, who was very knowledgeable about the birds and places to see them. We saw a lot of birds in various habitats. Although a short holiday, the most was made of the time available. Meals were good, with a choice of 3 options each night. The hotel where we stayed in El Rocio could do with some modernisation, and some rooms were very noisy due to the bar opposite, but we were able to change to a quieter room. We used a mini bus to visit different areas of the park each day, and on one of the days we had a park ranger as a guide and we’re able to visit areas of Cota Donana not available other than with a ranger.

Naturetrek was the Tour operator. They specialise in wildlife holidays. They were very helpful and efficient from our first enquiry. They provided a lot of useful information prior to the holiday., and followed up after the holiday. All travel arrangements worked well. They suggested a change of flights which suited us better, and this was very helpful.

well organised, excellent leaders that were very knowledgeable about the local areas, nature, history etc. the hotel used was good, clean, food excellent and the staff were very friendly, helpful and nothing was to much trouble.

Naturetrek are a well establish travel company that cater for those who have an interest in the natural world and have a large variety of locations across the world to meet most peoples interest in birds, flora & fauna, mammals, butterflies & moths and local history etc. They have local guides and use local hotels and they share their knowledge to give a total experience of the are you visit. The staff who organise your holiday are very experience and nothing is too much trouble and they are very efficient at getting back to you with any issues and solve problems etc.

My first ever birding holiday - just over a week in Andalusia and Extremadura, Spain, visiting a couple of National Parks and a whole lot more. Every day was a new adventure, seeing species I had never even heard of, let alone seen before! Great accommodation in both places with good food. Extremely knowledgable guides and just the right group size, 14. Very good value for money.

Plenty of information provided in advance, including itinerary and past tour reports. Good communication throughout with timely updates on flight times and changes to COVID requirements at the border.
